I think you will like this one..I did.

MILITARY RULES FOR THE NON-MILITARY PERSONNEL

Dear Civilians,
We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation have many
civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who
can't join, you can still lend a hand.

Here are a few of the areas we
would like your assistance with:

1. The next time you see an adult talking during the playing of the National
Anthem ... kick their ass.

2. When you witness firsthand someone burning the American Flag in protest
... kick their ass.

3. Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest
amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise,
quietly pull them aside and explain how these Veterans fought for the very
freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices
these Veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a
Disabled Veteran kicks their ass.

4. If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing
battle dress uniforms (BDU's), telling others that you used to be "Special
Forces," and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay if you were
still seven. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.

5. If you witness someone calling an enlisted Marine "Sir," stand back ....a
Marine will kick their ass.

6. Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, "Do you
fly a jet?" Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance
deserves an ass kickin (children are exempt).

7. Roseanne Barr's singing of the National Anthem is not a blooper ... it
was a disgrace and disrespectful. Laugh, and sooner or later your ass will
be kicked.

8. Next time Old Glory prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and
pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart. Quietly thank the
military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her. of course;
failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass kicking.

9. What Jane Fonda did during the Vietnam War makes her the enemy. The
proper word to describe her is "traitor." Just mention her nomination for
"Woman of the Year" and get your ass kicked..

10. Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran. We
are Americans and we all bleed the same regardless of our party affiliation.
Our Chain of Command, is to include our commander in Chief. The
President(for those who didn't know) is our CIC regardless of political
party.. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important
buildings where all those "representatives" meet. All we know is that when
those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the
military to go straighten it out. The military member might direct you to
Oliver North. (I can see him kicking your ass
already.)

11. "Your mama wears combat boots" never made sense to me, stop saying it!
If she did, she would most likely be a vet and probably kick your ass!

12. Bin Laden and the Taliban are not communists, so stop saying "Let's go
kill those Commie's!!!" And stop asking us where he is!!!! Crystal balls are
not standard issue in the military. That reminds me ... if you see anyone
calling those damn psychic phone numbers; let me know, so I can go kick
their ass.

13. Bus Driver, Jar Head, Grunt, Swabbie, Squid, etc, are terms of
endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or
vet, you have not earned the right to use them & could get your ass kicked.

14. Last but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military,
support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious
holiday that you enjoy with family and friends please remember that there
are, literally, thousands of troops overseas wishing they could be with
their families. Be thankful for our military and the sacrifices they make
every day. Without them, our country would get its ass kicked.

I like this list, 30MM. It makes me want to go out and kick some ass!

BTW, I've been doing a little ass-kicking myself. I passed my Final Contact checkride with a Good, so no more acro for me for a while. I'll miss my twice daily dose of Cuban 8s and Clover Leafs. Although I can do without the 5.8G Barrel Dives... I must admit I was a little disappointed with the Good, because I'm really good with the stick, so to speak, so I was expecting a little more of myself. But, I'm several rides into instruments now, and going to Colorado on XC this weekend. I should be checking late next week or early the week after, then all I have left is Formation (eek!) and then I'll be done with my little Tweet. I can't believe how much I've done and learned. And even more, I can't believe how much I still have to learn before I'm done! Speaking of which, back to the books...

LOL! perfect timing for a lot of talk about kicking ass.
Got me a little more riled up about an upcoming tournie/possible rematch w/some chump white belt that gave me a mean look after losing to me last summer/telling soone else to tag me pretty hard, fractured two of my ribs. (imagine the dirty look as being like a Private trying to stare down a Sarge)

Oh, and a question for Roots, and anyone else that had anything to do with A-10's. Do you all fly planes? 2 rib fractures isn't enough. Try to do a better job than that one kickboxer

Luke, I track select mid-March, and graduate 4 Sep. My whole class is pretty stellar, so it's going to be interesting. 82% pass rate on mid-phase (average here at Vance is 50-60%) and we had 100% pass rate on Final Contact. But then, a lot of those guys want heavies for the lifestyle... Just keeping my fingers crossed and my nose in the books!

I was in a heavy unit at Travis AFB while I was waiting for my pilot slot. The lifestyle is MUCH different. It is like not even being in the military. Except for the higher ups those guys did not have to work real long hours except when they were flying. The flying itself was boring. Hours and hours of droning across an ocean to drop of goods being the only mission you do would get old to me (like the C5 guys) and hours and hours of flying AR tracks would be no better (like the KC10 guys). Regardless of what the heavy guys say though...they are gone from home just as much as everyone else. The average when I was at Travis for a typical pilot was 170-190 days TDY. You can count on about the same in fighters but at least there you will be TDY and deploying with your whole unit and not just one aircrew. In my opinion, if the heavy lifestyle were that much 'better' than the fighter world then they would have had and would continue to have a much better retention rate for pilots at the end of their commitment. That is just not the case. It is also NOT an easier trip to the airliners. The only guys with a meaningful type rating are the KC10 guys. Also, while some companies prefer heavy guys, more do not have a preference and some actually prefer fighter guys.

But, for you, I would perpetuate the myth to your classmates that are leaning in the heavy direction. Really what those guys are saying is, "I am not sure I want to work 60-70 hours a week and constantly study just so I can go and kill a bunch of bad guys". That is really what they mean by 'better lifestyle'. They will not have to work as hard.

Good luck!!!!!!
