This seems to be all the rage on ARFCOM. Mike Durant released a book detaling his own account of what happened while he was in Somalia.

In The Company of Heroes. Michael J. Durant. Better details about it can be found at Barnes & Noble.com. Do a search for it. And this link http://www.amazon.com/ for you less motivated fans of his.

Top. Forgot to mention on Barnes & Noble.com, you can review his book. I already "strafed" Chief Warant Officer Durant. Next time I see my older Brother, I'll tell him to do the same. Family Fun! Can't go wrong!

I saw it at a bookstore the other day and wanted to buy it, but I was out of town at the time and on a budget. I think I'll pick up a copy on payday......

I'll have to actually read it. So I can stop dangling the sword of damacles above him, as mentioned in the review.

call me stupid. And by that I mean desensitized, never really noticed that wound above his eye, overlooked it and focused on the injuries he got when his bird all but landed ON him.

Lil' old candy ass me would probably laugh about a wound near my eye, like that one. Somehow I doubt that alone would of slowed Nightstalker down much.

It is not the wound that is the crazy part...that is by no means the worst of his injuries. He was sitting there with a compound fracture of his femur and a broken back with all of his crew dead around him. Then....he gets the wound by his eye....he says one of the bad guys used the severed arm of one of Durant's crew (he is not sure which one) as a club type weapon and hit him in the face HARD with it. You should hear some of the atrocities committed against the pakistanis in Somalia before we showed up there...

That is a very, very troubled place.

Hard to imagine any war on terror being complete without a full invasion of that place.

Some of the Pakistani Defense.com guys said the Pakistani's that were killed after trying to shut down radio Mogadishu were skinned. Alive is not known.

By laughing I think I meant to say angry & appalled. I'd hate to be clubbed with a friends arm.

And Now that I know that little fact.
I can no longer say I've been "Duranted" worse than Mike Durant. Best I can do: Had my head cracked pretty good, and after checking how bloody I was after coming too. Completely honest, there was blood...

..Also noticed a glob of sticky black stuff on my biking glove. Not sure if it was bone marrow, or if something else leaked out of my head a little. Needless to say I pitched the gloves, mainly cause the palm of one was ripped.
