Kerry 'Flips Off' Vietnam Vet

Democratic senator - and certain presidential nominee - John F. Kerry gave the middle finger to a Vietnam veteran at the Vietnam Memorial Wall on Memorial Day morning, NewsMax.com has learned.

Ted Sampley, a former Green Beret who served two full tours in Vietnam, spotted Kerry and his Secret Service detail at about 9:00 a.m. Monday morning at the Wall. Sampley walked up to Kerry, extended his hand and said, "Senator, I am Ted Sampley, the head of Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry, and I am here to escort you away from the Wall because you do not belong here."

At that point a Secret Service officer told Sampley to back away from Kerry. Sampley moved about 6 feet away and opened his jacket to reveal a HANOI JOHN T-shirt.

Kerry then began talking to a group of schoolchildren. Sampley then showed the T-shirt to the children and said, "Kerry does not belong at the Wall because he betrayed the brave soldiers who fought in Vietnam."

Just then Kerry - in front of the school children, other visitors and Secret Service agents - brazenly 'flashed the bird' at Sampley and then yelled out to everyone, "Sampley is a felon!"

Kerry was referring to an incident 12 years ago when Sampley confronted Sen. John McCain's chief aide, Mark Salter, in a Senate stairwell after McCain repeatedly offended POW families at a Senate POW hearing. Sampley, whose father-in-law at that time was MIA in Laos, followed Salter into the stairwell and, when they emerged, Salter had a bloody lip and a broken nose.

Sampley's group, Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry, has garnered huge national attention and has been featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post and on MSNBC's "Scarborough Country." Tens of thousands of Vietnam vets have registered their opposition to Kerry through Sampley's group.

Clearly Sampley has gotten under Kerry's skin once again.

Snipe,
Unable to verify this story anywhere else. Was it reported elsewhere? Surely if it's true it would've made the headlines. That being said, it is a rather amusing read...

Now you certainly don't expect to hear this from ABC do you?

Honestly WH30, I can't verify it, i wasn't there. However the guy who allegedly confronted Kerry is a real person and has an organization that i'm sure one could contact to verify the story if they so chose.

I am already convinced Kerry is a douche bag, so i don't really feel the need... ;)

Heard this just today on talk radio here in PHX. If true, wasn't the most professional thing for Kerry to do.......about as professional as breaking the faith with his comrades and especially POWs in Hanoi, with his post-war activities. Just a slight rung one the ladder under Hanoi Jane, IMO.

Seperate from the Veteren Injustice..

I have a serious issue with Him doing it (middle Finger) infront of Children. That alone tells me that He is an individual that has only selfish concern for himself.

He hs no moral credibility with me now.

It is onething to be against a war he participated in. He has that right as that was a personal event in his life. I never had any issues with that. We all deal with it in our own way.

The fact that he Dropped all moral safeguards and made fool of himself at the memorial and then to openly display a curse in front of children clearly demonstrates the moral fabric he is made of.

IF he ever makes president of United states., And i show up to my childrens school with a picture of him there as they usualy do for the presidents. I will promptly remove my children from that learning institution until the injustice against kids are removed.

He is a Maggot of society. When my children call allegiance to a leader, he needs to stand morally correct through adversity. He clearly does not have it and is unworthy of my families allegance

If it's true, too bad there isn't a pic. That, and a pic of his portrait in Hanoi..."A picture's worth a million votes!"

I HAVE NOT FOUND ANY INDEPENT GROUP TO BACK UP THIS EVENT.

WITH ALL THE BIG NEWS MEDIA AND VETERAN GROUPS AROUND WASHINGTON OVER THE PAST WEEKEND,SOMEONE ELSE HAD TO SEE IT.
I HAVENT SAW ANYTHING ABOUT THE CHILDRENS PARENTS SCREAMING ABOUT THEIR KIDS SEEING IT,ETC.....

I DONT CARE FOR KERRY OR BUSH,BUT IN ORDER TO KEEP FROM BEING CAUGHT UP IN "URBANS MYTHS" WE NEED TO VERIFY WITH OTHER OUTLETS FIRST.

LIKE YOU DID WITH KERRY IN VIETNAM'S MUSEUM SNIPE,CANT MISS THAT.

It was all over talk radio for the last two days goose. There were no cameras present.

It is possible that he didn't flip the vet off. What is certain is that he was at the wall, Sampley was at the wall, and they don't like each other. Sampleys Vietnam vets against Kerry group is a real organization with thousands of members.

Here's a funny video of Kerry on his position in Iraq as it has evolved over the last several years dating back to 1997. It's a bunch of snippets pieced together. Man does that guy change his mind a LOT...

It's not exactly Bush's fault the prices are so high(although in honesty they're really where they should be if you extrapolate gas prices over the years with inflation, we'd been living mighty large underpaying for decades).

You can blame the terrorists for that.

Well, the terrorists and the investors.

In Europe they pay outrageous rates because they're socailists.

All those wonderful socail engineering programs are EXTREMELY expensive.

Probably 70% of the cost of fuel in Europe is taxes.

Forget about gas. New cars here in Israel are marked up 150% tax. And that doesn't include the extra price to cover shipping, import, etc..

Goose I gotta say this. Gas is cheap here in the USA. My in-laws were just here for two weeks visiting from England. Average price per gallon of gas over $5.00 per gallon. Yes I know they sell it in liters over there but it works out to this. So they found it hard to feel our pain when I complained about how much it is here. You know what? It is true, we have been spoiled for a long time. However Snipe has it right. Socialism is the root cause. National Health eats up the largest portion of the British economy and they still have to wait weeks to see a doctor. That's right, weeks, not days.

goose the problem with medical care is that the insurance companies have stepped between you and the doctor. If you ask a Doctor how much it cost so you can pay the bill today he either does not know the cost or will provide you the cost based upon the insurance company schedule.

Many Doctors are going back to the of pay cash model. You know what it is cheaper because the doctor gets paid you get the care--and he does not have to pay the staff to collect the bill from the insurance company.

GOD you guys sound like Klinton!!!! I cant believe I am reading this in the shadow of Reagans death, the libberals have succeded in brainwashing you all!! "Europe isnt over taxed the US is undertaxed"

This is NOT the first time we have seen $40 a barrel for oil. The media says "this is the highest oil price in 30 or 40 years" wellllll that means 30 years ago it was JUST as high! I was around when we had the 3 flag system for gas stations, Red flag= closed, Yellow flag=open for other things but out of gas, Green flag=we have gas, and it wasnt anyway near $2.00 a gallon. Gas costs less in the US because we have enough say so to get a better deal plus pump some of our own, Japan and Europe dont have that ability and pay much higher costs for oil before they start adding on thier own taxes. Gas is expensive PERIOD! Our whole country runs on it, EVERYTHING goes on and comes off a truck at some point in it's ligisticle tail. IF the Euros and Japan and others pile on more for thier economies to deal with that is THIER mistake, NOT our good fortune. This isnt supply and demand it is nervouse speculation just like stocks on Wall Street.
