Seems the forums have been really slow for a while now (not speed but new members and current member posts) and have almost dried-up. I know they have always been ups and downs but, I have always thought there should be more people in the A-10 community using the boards? :?:

You got a point there Dice-man.
My problem is, my pc at home is broken. So i can only read and put things on the forum on my work.

About A-10 news, the Warthog is not so mutch on the news. Or i don't look good.

Honestly, I've been away from the jet for a few years now, so I don't feel like I am that \"in tune\" with her anymore. With the C mod's in service, and all of the other developments, it's like talking about a different jet than what I worked.

I've been on leave or TDY since the beginning of February. Plus work sucks lately.

And I've been lurking because I haven't really had anything to say, not to mention a little side trip to some place I really did not want to go to and it pisses me off I can't even talk about it.

I'm still here and post when i can, but you are right it would be nice to see other posts once in awhile. I can't always respond to all the a-10 related stuff because i've never worked on one, but i do read them.

I kinda feel the same way and with the weather getting nicer I'm either floating in my pool or out riding my motorcycle.

Dice, website traffic always seems to drop off during the summer months and almost any time school is out. Most people are away taking vacation or just spending time with the family. As for myself, I'll have to say that while I read the board daily I only post when I have something worth shareing. Since I've retired, it's a little difficult to get A-10 (or any aircraft) related material to share. However, that may change soon if I get this new job I'm thinking about taking.

Ditto. I read daily, but don't really feel like I have much to add. Except for that big-ass burger I ate the other week.

New things with the A-10- They are installing a new antenna on the Hog on all the jets now, they've been testing it at Nellis for a while. From what I heard, it adds the capability of the pilot receiving a call from a DSN phone. No BS. Its shaped like a T, positioned right behind the EGI antenna.

If it's the one you told me about, your 100% completely insane if you don't take it.

I'm in about the same boat as the others-- I read it every 2-3 days, but don't have much to say.
Though the McChord air expo will be coming up in a couple months...supposed to be the biggest they have ever had. F-22 scheduled to be there(my first in-person sighting)
Taking the boys one day, the second day only me, my camera and video camera. Might have a useful/interesting post then.....

I'm still here. ;)

I stopped trying to promote and expand the boards over a year ago because while it was adding quite a few users, almost none of them were A-10 specific.

Certain phones Jack, but not DSN. There are a bunch of other capabilities available too.

You all make good points, summer, family, TDY’s, don’t work the jet anymore…I guess I stay close to the aircraft because I see them every day and keep up with them for my website and book. Just wish sometime there were more people from the field who would visit and keep the boards fresh.
I guess all we can do is keep plugging away like we have for the past few years.

Hmm ok so i'm not A-10 specific, in fact i've never seen a real one...i just think they are great! Does they mean i'm not allowed to stay and play on here anymore lol?

I've been reading regularly, just don't typically have anything to really add. Not a whole lot to contribute that can really just be thrown out here right now. I am still around, though!

Of course you're welcome Racegal!

In fact, if you'd like to see an A-10 up close and personal, i'm sure it can be arranged.
