Post subject: Veterans Day
I just want to wish each of you that are Serving and have served a
Salute and also a time to reflect on those who are not here with us because of their Great Sacrifice That they have given in the name of
Freedom and this country.
Salute
This is a Day for You and of those Hero's who have fought and defended this country.
I see where they like to add others , Fireman, Police, First Responders as Part of Veterans Day.
Well to those Who have worn both Uniforms I say \"Thank-you\"For Your Service
For those who have not worn the uniform of this Country in Military service, but in those Noble Professions , I say \"Thank-you \" on other days
\"9-11\" now plus all the other Days that have been set aside for your professions over the years.
But Today is Veterans Day, which is just one of really 2 days that are Dedicated to \"Military Veterans\" and \"Active Duty Troops\" serving is this too much to ask?
I say not since most of us volunteered , or when called up Did their Duty,
Not for a \"Day-off\" for a lot of folks, Shopping Specials at Big Chain Stores,Car Deals etc....Which those 2 Days have become.
Its a Day to remember and \"Thank The Troops\" and remember those troops Who are now in Harms way or getting ready to go, Those who have been in other Conflicts, Those who have Been Wounded or Ill from serving in thos Conflicts or time, Those Veterans who by some reason \"Are Homeless\" and most of all \"Those Veterans Who have Died Defending this country and the 1400 who will pass -on this day as they do everyday for the past 5 years.
Not including the ones Who are dying in Harms way now almost 4000 now and they don't get but a \"2 min \" Blip on the evening news. Too young to even have a \"Drink\" or in some places buy a pack of Smokes.
So I give \"Thanks and Prayers \" to some and others \"Thanks and Pray\" for their Safe Return.
So Have a Safe \"Veterans Day\" I think putting \"Happy\" in there doesnt quite fit.
_Editorial Update _________________________________________________________
So now that it is a \"Federal Law\" that you can salute the flag in or out of uniform and not active etc.... Well that's great and all, but I know that alot of you just like myself meet Veterans we knew or know now that were \"Officers\" or \"Wounded Warriors New and Old\" I always give them a \"Salute\" and back from the \"Salute's\" beginnings that of which was of Knights lifting their \"Visors or other face Armour\" to show their Opponent respect before battle and to see Who they were fighting, and now over all these 100's of years as a sign of \"Respect or Acknowledgment\" of someones position in the Ranks, it's still a great \"Symbol\"
It still is a \"Universal sign of Respect between Brothers and Sisters in Arms\" now and then.
So now you won't be breaking the law for something we've been doing for years.
So again let me just end by \"God Speed\" to all of you who are serving today over in the \"Box\" or \"Afgannyland\" and others around the world,
I Salute All of You!
