What a stinking overpriced dump this place is.

$13 for half (?!?!?!) a burger and $3 for a can of coke at a little corner greasy spoon diner. The girl im here seeing is paying $1200 a month for a freaking efficiency apartment.

On top of it, there are bums everywhere.

I can't wait to get out of here.

I love Indiana! I can get a good big burger with fries for $8.00 at a restaurant, and I pay $700 a month (mortgage not rent) for a 3 acre farm. :)

I don't understand how people can live in those high rent places. Working at a McDonalds isn't going to pay for an efficiency in those places. Hell, working my good ANG WG-12 technician job wouldn't pay for a one bedroom there...if I wanted to eat or anything.

Wow really weasel $700 a month...Maybe i should be looking for houses out there....most mortages here for a home (at least in my price range) are $1500 a month and that is less then 1/4 acre of property.

Fort Wayne, Indiana median home prices (average): $98,600 in 2004.

I live in Huntington County, the next county over from Allen County (Ft Wayne). Our median home price in 2009 was $92,673.

*ref: Google...IN median home prices*

My 3 acre farm (130 year old Victorian brick home and barn)...I bought two years ago for $103,000.

It's where you're looking Heather. You want to be out in the trendy and pricey suburbs.

I only pay $300 a month for my firehouse. :D
