grrrr, stupid French, Germans and belgisch.. Turkey's invoked the NATO article asking for emergency meetings because they feel Iraq is a threat in Response. I hope it works, these euro-losers are starting to piss me off. It is unacceptable to refuse to help an ally, they have a legal and moral obligation.

I just finished some work on the state of NATO. Now that the Europeans no longer fear the Soviets, they are getting pretty ballsy. The UK, Spain, and Poland, and Holland are really the only countries there that support the US and her posture on Iraq and the war on Terror. NATO is heading for some enourmus reforms, and don't be suprised on what you guys will see. Remeber the days of Theodore Roosevelt, the Great White Fleet, and the big stick? Comming soon to a theatre of operations near you.

oh and regarding the French and Germans...........75% of the theological population in France is Islam. Most of the terrorists on Sept 11, arrived to the US via Germany. Both of those countries need to start getting with the program in regards to the war on terror, or we need to let the 3rd Army to re-enact Patton's armored blitzkreig across both countries.

I don't know whay they refer to lighting combined arms warfare as a "blitzkreig" Patton invented the tactic. Germans just used it first.

Raven you want have to wait long for that white flag. The French are a bunch of yellow scum. As for NATO they just proved how insignifcant they really are. When a member asks for help NATO is supposed to respond in a positive mannner, not pick and choose which member get help and which does not. Jerks.

I think the best comment I've seen so far about the French was the one about "going to war without the French is like going deer hunting without an accordian."

They had a commentator on who said the only reason the French are opposing us is to show they really still matter. In who's minds.

I talked to a girl with one french parent and one american pareent a few years ago she only could blame america for all the ills in this world. She said her parents dont are fed up with us americans expecting respect for saving the french asses twice last century. 'They didn't need us', 'nobody asked us to shed the blood of our countrymen to save their #####.',

I have had it Reagan had to fly around france to get to Libya, and the list goes on. That is it. Next month we start shipping McDonalds gift certificates, free jeans, and american movie passes to all their children. They may not like us but we will win the culture war, and hitem where it hurts.

My real feeling is that the french dont want us to conquer Iraq because if we shoot the rest of their Mirages out of the air no body will want to buy from them. Not to mention the new iraqi government is gonna want f-16 once they have reformed.

Related SR-71 story, and I'm trying to remember where I read it...Sometime either before or after the strike on Libya (I can't remember which) the Air Force sent an SR-71 to take pics. The French denied permission to overfly their country, so the SR had to fly from England, south past Spain and Portugal, and enter the Med through the strait of Gibraltar. The flight down and over the target went by without any problems, but when they turned for home they had an engine problem. Not wanting to take a long detour with a sick plane, the crew decided to cut across France heading back to base. Flying much lower and slower than usual, they were intercepted by a Mirage, and had a short radio coversation where the French pilot asked for their clearance (or something like that). The backseater on the SR told the pilot something to the effect of "I just gave it to him...let's get out of here." It turned out the the backseater flipped the bird to the French pilot, and they took off, leaving the Mirage in the dust.

There you have it. capitalism kicken ass one mighty U.S. Dollar at a Time Mirages were always better Sam test drones anyways

Read an Interesting book By Stephen Ambrose "Ikes Spies" Discussing the WW2 OSS activities. They had some very interesting problems with the French in Algiers and Gibralter. The French Admiralty and Generalship would not agree to joining the US side due to infighting about which French Military man would lead the uprising against the Germans. It was More important to save face than it was to worry about the germans occupieng their homeland and adding to the gene pool In the end they scuttled their ships so they could avoid armed confrontation against the germans and hid out in the mountains. At the end of the war, the french awarded their military leadership high decorations.

I respect Donald Rumsfields "Old Europe" Comment. The French are chumps

I think we should just take our “TOYs” and go home! Pull all the grunts and armor out of Europe and then reopen all the air bases in England. Fill the UK up with airpower and just sit back and wait for the European Union to smother NATO (as we know it today) and insert their own military. That is what France and Germany are pushing for. I guess it’s the Big Fish in a Small Pond syndrome. Let me see if I can remember some stats....eems like we the US have provided at lease 75% of the NATO fighting force for 54 years (since 1949). The French quit and kicked us out of France in 1963 (possibly because we didn’t help in French Viet Nam before the Viet Min kicked the Frogs asses or maybe it was because of the Congo ass whoopin they got about the same time) and never provided any significant military forces since. Germany was sadly a true ally at one time, but with the local bully gone (USSR) they don’t need us and probably resent the fact that they ever did. Belgium well what can I say......they’re as snotty and pompous as the French but have a much seeder past and like a small viscous dog, suffer from nervous disorders that make them have delusions of Grandeur. I have hardly been able to stand either the French nor the Belgian people, and have had many a run in with them in my lifetime. Besides California has equal to or better wine, quality chocolate is made in Pennsylvania, perfumes from Asia are as popular today as French ones and to top it off Vegas has better whores...................so what the hell do we need France and Belgium for???
Just my humble opinion, JKA

Rush Limbaugh has a great theory here the french and the germans may not want us to see their lables on all those weapons of mass destruction.

Also remember Hilter came to power leagally, maybe just maybe Germany is trying through the EU to accomplish what he could not 'legally'. The only problem here is while Hitler came to power 'legally', he rewrote the laws to fit his need later.

Maybe a fourth Riech in the works. If so I think France needs to count us out this time.
