"Equal and opposite" isn't meant to imply that every force that's exerted is met with a force right against it the way you're thinking (like two rams butting heads).

Instead, look at something as simple as walking. When you walk, the 'action' of your legs moving through air is met by the 'equal and opposite reaction' of air moving away from your body. If the air molecules met your body with the type of "equal and opposite reaction" you're picturing, we wouldn't be able to move. It's a poorly worded 'law,' but hopefully you understand and are just using the "I'm against it cuz I can be" defense... I know I do...

well lets not get carried away, Newton's laws didnt make anything happen he just tried to explain them so we could exploit them.

True, very true, they are and were always laws of nature; but I would propose Newton was the gent that actually "pulled back the shutters" and exposed them/it for all to see and apply.

Back to some more "Anything", Who do you prefer to watch:
Conan, Leno, or Letterman, or neither?

I prefer Conan.

I tape Conan and watch him in the mornings, it's the funniest show on TV. Love Dave but just got away from watching him, seems like he kinda gave up.

My thoughts exactly on Dave; I only watch him if he has an interesting guest.

I watch Conan in the evenings on Comedy Central. The dude has the best sketches and the best late-night band.

I think all you guys are wrong on theories regarding light...

It's not really light, but an absence of dark. You see, lightbulbs, candels, the sun, anything you perceive as emitting light, are actually sucking dark!

That's right, they're ALL "dark suckers." And I can prove it! A shadow is not caused by an absence of light, but by dark being backed up behind an object. What happens when a bulb burns out or you blow out a candle? The fillaments and wicks are BLACK! Black because of all of the dark absorbed!

If you don't believe me, it's all here!:

Horrido,

Not sure if I’m with you on this dark thing.

For anything to pile up behind an object to create a shadow, it must have weight.

So therefore darkness has weight, so how come you get shadows on a ceiling? I’d have thought the darkness would have fallen off onto the floor…

If we keep going with this, for darkness to have weight, it must have mass therefore it must have inertia.

How come your cars, bikes and jets don’t slow down at night having to fly through all this darkness..?

I always thought candle wicks were black after blowing them out due to carbon build-up...

Oh well, guess I'm off to re-write all my old AP Chem books...

When me and my mates got to college we were all looking forward to Applied Chemistry.

But all the textbooks had been censored.

All references to any reactions that tended to go exothermic in a big way had been torn out, especially the recipe for TNT ...

Hey Tritonal, yeah the Ween toons are the best. I really howled when Homestar and Marzipan were going to have a seeance (or however you spell it) to summon the spirit of her dead Ficus Plant.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

Speaking of the H-Star Halloween episode...

Do you guys all click on the costumed characters at the end of each of 'em? I remember doing it last year, and this year was funny too.

I love that stupid site...

44HP, your own argument can be used against your erroneous theory of light. If "light" has mass, then it, too, would be falling from the ceiling, and why don't bikes, cars, and jets have to slow down during the day moving through all of this so-called "light?"

of course IF darkness radiated, filiments and candle wicks wouldent be black becase the "dark" would radiate out of them, just like a leaking bucket will eventually "radiate" all it's wetness onto the floor lol

The speed of dark? That's easy. Light resides in small packets of energy called quanta. Dark is the complete absence of energy. With no energy whatsoever you have absolute zero. At absolute zero there is no movement at all. The speed of dark is zero.

Homestarrunner: Hey Coach Z, I weally like yo Wesley Snipes costume.

Coach Z: No, I'm Kool-Mo-Dee from the "Treachorous Three"

Homestarrunner: Oh, I didn't know; I've only seen "Treachorous 1 and 2".

ALSO, if you haven't found it yet, Click on the first Candy Corn light on the right handside of the house when all the characters are gathered; you'll get a nice surprise.

Boomer, you are off. I never said that darkness radiated. It is being SUCKED towards the dark sucker, which is why candles and fillaments turn black, because of the dark being sucked onto them.

Hmmm... I think I'd have to agree with you, Snipe... since I said the same thing earlier today.

APPARENTLY you have to be a moderator around here for anyone to listen to your comments... oh, wait... no, you have to be a moderator for people to make gay jokes about your posts. Right, boomer?

DARK IS REALLY THE ABSENCE OF "STRINGS" THE NEW THEORY OF "REALITIVITY"

THAT THERE IS 11 DIMESIONS AND EVERYTHING IS MADE UP OF UNITS THAT ARE CALLED "STRINGS"
THE STRINGS VIBRATE AND CAUSE ENERGY WHICH MAKES MATTER THAT MAKES WHAT WE SEE MATTER,SO WE CAN TELL REALLY WHAT MATTERS SO WE CAN ASK "WHATS A MATTER"?
MATTER OF SPEAKING ITS A VERY SIMPLE MATTER AND IF YOU TAKE MATTER INTO YOUR OWN HANDS IT COULD REALLY MATTER ON A COSMIC SCALE.

SO IN A MATTER OF SPEAKING ITS A VERY IMPORTANT MATTER.

DOES IT SHOW THAT I USE TO BE A UNION VP?
IF YOU CANT DAZZLE THEM WITH YOUR BRAIN,BAFFLE THEM WITH "B.S."
