No, son - you're not up there alone - not with all the things you come through. You have the greatest co-pilot in the world even if there is just room for one in that fighter ship - no, you're not alone. — Colonel Robert L. Scott, Jr., USAAF, 'God Is My Copilot,' 1943. We who fly are going to get to know that Great Flying Boss in the sky better and better. — Colonel Robert L. Scott, Jr., USAAF, 'God Is My Copilot,' 1943. |

To learn some history and meet a living legend, visit the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, Georgia. There you'll find Brig. Gen. Robert L. Scott (ret.). A small list of his many exploits include: * as a fighter pilot working with the American Volunteer Group (the famed Flying Tigers) in China during WWII under General Claire Lee Chennault, he shot down 22 Japanese aircraft * in 1980 at the age of 72, he walked the entire Great Wall of China (he is the first known human, and perhaps the only one, to have walked the entire Great Wall) * in 1984, he flew an F-16; in 1995 at the age of 87, he flew an F-15; for his 89th birthday, he flew in the B1-B Lancer * wrote several best-selling books, including God is My Co-Pilot and The Day I Owned the Sky Today at the vigorous age of 97, Gen. Scott can be found regularly working tirelessly in the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, Georgia. |
