I was there on a dive trip on the way home from my last stint on The Ice 2 years ago. Cairns is a beautiful city and the jungle around it is just amazing to see. Hope it's not all gone. The reef is bound to take a beating as well.<img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle> When I was there, they'd already lost much of it to coral bleaching caused by elevated ocean temps.

If you don't believe in global warming, I don't know what you're waiting on? Hurricanes like this one and Katrina are also caused by elevated ocean temps. The handwritting is on the wall. I don't mean to be all gloom and doom, and I'm not really that much of a tree hugger, but Governments world wide really need to pull their heads out of their asses and look around. It ain't gonna get any better without some kind of change.
