Good Morning, I've been up since 0420 since I couldnt sleep . You get stuffed-up on a C=PAP machine your SCREWED! So I have paperwork to file, scan etc.... for my records and Man, you know If you keep everything they send you its" A WHOLE F-ING LOT!" I.m going thru records,Military,Medical,VA etc...to get the stuff saved and handy so I'm about to LOSE MY MIND! By my figures of what I have atleast sorted from before I'm almost to the 1000th page! That includes all my Military Records,Military Medical,VA,private Dr's,TESTS,Hospital stays,Death Letters ((By the way Their thinking of doing a story on that sometime coming up on my "Death" When they do I'll make sure you guys can read it) Ratings it just goes on, and on. So I'm VENTING right now but look on the bright side of all this PAPERWORK. Once on disk I have at my finger tips anytime! But if any of you ever have to or even think about doing anything with the VA you better have GOOD RECORDS, because they'll tell you "We cant find your Military Records, or this or that" And then you can send them copies by certified mail so when they tell you "We never rec'vd them" you cantell them But you guys That are retiring or seperating from the service or been for over 10 yrs, get your Jacket file Copied now and stow it somewhere safe. Then when you retire or get out you have less to gather up. The VA "LOST" my records (funny thing) which seems to happen alot and when I asked again for copies(I had my own) they sent me "5" papers thats it! So I copied all mine I had back when I left, sent them Certified to STLOU and wrote them a note saying "HERE YOU GO ,DONT LOSE THEM THIS TIME". If you been out awhile request your records from your Branch archives. To make sure everything is there and If not you can make sure ITS IN THERE with your copies you send them ALWAYS SEND ANY MAIL TO THE VA CERTIFIED WITH RETURN RECIPT! If you dont your just screwing your self and NEVER,EVER, SEND THEN ORINGALS!Unless asked for in writing and you make copies before turning them over!. One of the MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO ABOVE ALL ELSE FOLKS!!!!!!! COPY YOUR SHOT RECORDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reason being like Desert Storm, the shot logs were "Thrown away",Then when you get out you turn over your records and you never see them again. Thats so common it hurts ! So not trying to "Stir the Pot!" or anything but these are things I have encountered with Vets ttrying to get help with their illiness or benefits. The VA has the duty to "ASSIST" in getting your information and building your case, but it doesnt work that way even though it supposed too. They do what they can but the MORE YOU DO FOR YOURSELF AND THEM, the better your chances are.! Thats Goose's Topic of the month. All views and opinions put in this Thread are those of the Author and not Necessarily those of the WT's LIVE FREE OR DIE! |

Good info Goose. I don't want to become one of those V.A. horry stories so I will copy everything like you say. Fender "Patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all other countries because you were born in it." George Bernard Shaw |

stuffed up on a CPAP machine??? do you have a humidifier on your machine? mine has one, i have wondered whats going to happen if i get a stuffy nose. ive only had it for about 3 months now. do you happen to know your pressure? mines on 8 right now, i was on 16, but i had my uvula and tonsils removed about 2 months back. my doctor said i was the 2nd worst person hes ever seen and couldnt believe i was able to breathe the way my throat was all blocked up. plus i was having an average of 136 apneatic events an hour, which is more than 2 times a min. no wonder i was always tired |

Mine is set at 11, it has a humidifier but I still get stuffed -up with the weather changes. I'm going to trade mine in for a newer model that supposed to do a better job, mines 2 yrs old now. They wanted to do the surgery I said "NO WAY" until I have too.
