Well, the sjit hit the fan last night.

My fiance's daughter's guy got plastered and tore up their house. Michelle bailed out with the kids and is camped at our house. I'm sitting here, with a pistol in my belt, and a rifle and shotgun locked and loaded in strategic places.

He was said to have a gun, and possibly to be suicidal. Supposedly, he had "attempted" suicide with a gun before, and his mother said "He will do it." Now she's singing a different tune. It figures. The cops went to visit him, and said "everything is fine." Right. <shrug> I suppose they couldn't actually do anything if he's not foaming at the mouth or waving a gun when they get there. The irritating part about that, is that it's Michelle's gun.

We're off to see my lawyer tomorrow to start the wheels of protection and recovery turning. Meanwhile, the kids are all tricked out in brand new sweats from Meyers and Wally World. Ryan ran out of the house with non-matching sneakers.

I believe the perp is not likely to come by here to mess with me, but I'm not about to put all my eggs in that basket. So we bed everybody down, batten the hatches, check the prime on our muskets, fondle our bayonets, and wait for morning. And I probably get to lose two days work until things are kinda sorted out.

What I would love to do with a corkscrew and a cigarette lighter, right now! I am not a happy camper.

It would make our lives easier. And save on cleaning our weapons. I swear, some people are alive, only because it is illegal to kill them.

Things have kinda settled down. I'll end up taking three days off work, trying to e-mail stuff in from home, to help sort out the pieces, but the perp has sobered up and is no longer talking violent. He's trying to make nicey nicey, but M will have nothing to do with it. If nothing else, her kids have laid down the law!

I'm taking her to the lawyer's on Wed. If you're not married, sorting out your crap is even more difficult than if you are.

I've gone down to DEFCON 3. The pistol is out of the belt,m but locked and loaded weapons are not too far from hand, just in case.
