Having a problem with my computer mouse and getting the cursor across and up and down the screen. I took take back off and removed the ball and all and blew some air inside but to no avail. So do I need a new mouse or a pad.

There are two axles, at right angles to each other, in the mouse body. You might try gently scraping the mouse turds off the axles with an X-Acto knife. That sometimes helps for me. Just don't bruise the mouse balls.

You might try working the mouse on a different surface. The back of a tablet of paper sometimes works well, in a pinch.

Yeah, those mice hate having bruised balls. Come to think of it, so do I.

What you need ladd, is a eunuch mouse. They've got NO BALLS AT ALL! They use a laser on the buttom that detects movement across almost any surface, and they are just as cheap, but not slutty.

The only down side is that they don't work well on a really slick shiny surface like formica or counter tops. You still need a mouse pad.
