Everyone say a little prayer for our brother Goose!
I am not sure when I saw his last post, but hopefully is isnt flooded out!

We had between 3 and 5 inches of rain in about a 3 hour period on Monday night. Tuesday most areas were pretty well flooded and roads closed off everywhere.

Wednesday with the rivers rising from the rainfall is when the flooding really started when the rivers, already high, started to overflow their banks!

Nice size portion of Pontiac Illinois, where I am near, flooded out pretty good. There will be a number of people losing pretty much everything.
That is the Vermillion River.

I hear tell that there was also problems in Goose's area, Watseka Illinois. I'm thinking that is the Iroqui (SP?) River.

So brother Goose.....I hope your sitting on a hill high and dry and not one of the little goslings floating along!

Once you sit back and watch it flow by, shake your feathers dry, waddle on over and type us a few lines!

*UPDATE*
Just read the afternoon paper, they say there was 200 homes evacuated in his area.
Lets leave our nightly prayers for Goose and family to be safe and sound!

Honk Honk!
[lol]

Fender just called me to see if I was \"Flooded\".?
Well Yes and No, The Town of Watseka IL has seen its highest level on the Iroquois River recorded. We had a \"100 year flood\" 3 years ago and that was 21ft (flood stage is 18ft) this one crested at 26.7ft.
Town pretty much flooded everywhere and the main highway flooded in 2 places.
I live 7 miles NW of Watseka and the river is 5.4 miles due west. Now the 2005 flood 2200 road south flooded (I'm on 2300 road) due to the Ice jamb and 7\" rain that fell in 12 hours that December . We only had minor flooding in the fields and the area around the river within 1 to 2 miles flooded,

This time 4+ miles from the river ! and it backed-up all the creeks and ditches and the backwaters and when I went into town Tuesday morning I was pushing water with my air dam and mid hub on tires, by that afternoon town had closed-off 2 intersections (still no biggy) well the water came from Indiana arrived they recivied more then us hit and breeched the banks within 2 hours that basically cut off most the town.
I started watching the field behind us filling up , the road to our west flooded over and all to our south like before but the field kept filling up over night so Wednesday I woke-up looked out side it was still dark watched Imus and at 0730 the water had climbed up behind the house from 200 yards from the house to about 50 yards because the town was starting to drain alittle but the bridges outside of town had \"Docks, trailers, boats ,logs\" jamming against them pushing the water over the banks and cutting new channels.
Well to put it like this I had a flock of Mallards in the backyard, but when I saw crap jumping less then 20ft from my property line I knew
\" [shock] [shock] [shock] we were in trouble.

But were too high around our house and the water started filling in the valleys so we got close but were never cut off from the road.
Thursday the water ran all day around us and yesterday the water in town finally started falling fast, .
This morning the water was still rushing into field behind us but by Noon it had stopped.
So I told the \"Old Man with the White Beard and the HUGE WOODEN JOHN BOAT\" he didn't need this pair of \"Geese\"\" .

My Sister lives in town, the water stopped at her curb everything south of her to the river (12 blocks) Flooded.

I guess its been on the news but, our local channel out of Champaign gave it 15 seconds 2 nights. I did see Dozens of Helicopters flying around ,around the clock from TV Stations but what do I know.

But it is a Major Mess! like I told Fender a Man in Wal-mart got a call from his Agent in the store and was told \"Yes you have Flood insurance, but your water is from \"Back Wash\" from the river so your not COVERED! [cuss] [mad] [angry] [angry] [angry] [angry] [angry] [angry]
they almost had to get the police to take him away he was Screaming
[cuss] [cuss] [cuss] [cuss] [cuss] [cuss] [angry] [mad] [bs] so loud he could be heard thru-out the Store.

Their we be major Law suits , fights, after it goes down but its suppose to stay above flood stage until this Thursday.

They have it bad so we'll help where we can.

So thanks for the \"MOJO\" and the Prayers, I took allot of pictures , I trying posting some.

Goose &CJ

-1 [salute]

Pontiac drained as well, although a lot of folks lost most everything!
Flooding is bad Ju-Ju.

I only heard of 1 death, some idiot went into his basement with flood waters, holding a \"HOT\"extension cord in his hands. He fell forward into the water after tripping and yep....ZAP!
36 yrs old. Leaves a wife and a couple kids behind.

Glad to see your OK Goose!

Thanks Guys.

They spent Sunday Snow Plowing , well \"Corn Stalk Plowing \". I had them things almost 3ft deep at the end of the road [shock] .
Water froze last night after going down quite a bit. Only the deep stuff is still open and the river.
So its just flooded south of us but passable with a 4Wheel Drive truck.

They talked to some \"River Rats\" who have lived here for over 79 years and they said it was higher than the 1959 June Flood which was supposed to be the \"100 year Flood Standard\" by 5ft.

Now the clean-up begins with Freezing temps getting colder all week. :(

Yeah getting colder again Goose.
What happened to those couple of 60+ days we had last week? They are calling for lows around 0 by Friday!

Go figure, its getting colder again and my damn furnace quit kicking on yesterday. Last time it cost $65 just for him to pull up out front!

Glad to hear you are still ok Goose. Thanks a bunch for the chat the other night, now I feel more prepared for that C&P appointment Saturday.

HOGSNORT, you should take an HVAC class at your local community college and learn how to repair the furnace yourself. Just kidding, HVAC is a good racket and yeah it burns for them to pull up in your driveway.

Oh I got this one figured out now since it cost me $65!
Its an old fuel oil furnace and I guess when I got a delivery, it got some air bubbles in the line. If it stops working in the auto mode, I just have to go bleed the line.
I did it again after this post and it works fine! I guess I didnt bleed it enough when I 1st tried it Saturday morning!

Hogsnort,

Can't you get a Retro kit to make it \"Gas\" instead of Oil? Thats what they did to the furnace at my old place.

Fender good to talk to you also. Glad I could help out, anymore questions just Yell.

Man its is COLD THIS MORNING! I miss the 60'sF already.
Your right 30MM , If you don't like the weather, wait a day. Those Tornadoes down You and Boomers way were a \"Rude awakening\" The biggest Tornadoes to hit this area were in December and February.

Racegal , I don't need any \"SWIMMIES\" I float and it isn't from the feathers either these days .

Goose
