They should string him up by his $!#*&. NEW YORK — NBC fired journalist Peter Arnett on Monday, saying it was wrong for him to give an interview with state-run Iraqi TV saying that the American-led coalition's first war plan had failed because of Iraq's resistance. Arnett himself called the interview a "misjudgment." http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,82656,00.html Fender Don't tell me what you think, what does the T.O. say. |

To be honest, i was amazed that he seemed to be pro American before the incident in question. I do have to give the media kudo's though. Not just for not plastering the airwaves with the images of American, British and Iraqi dead...but for maintaining a stunningly pro-war stance. Apparently they know that Saddam is a monster too. From CNN: U.S. military officials say Fox News Channel correspondent Geraldo Rivera has been expelled from Iraqi combat zones for giving away crucial details of future military operations during a live broadcast from Iraq. Is anyone shocked? |

That brings up a question I have: <center>Which news organizations do you think bring the best objective coverage about the War?</center> My pick: <ul><li>1.CBS </li><li>2.Fox News(lost to #1 when the anchor pronounced Hue(ie. <i>Hue City</i>) as "Hugh" and Geraldo(the guy just rubs me wrong) </li><li>3. CNN/MSNBC- for stunning visuals </li></ul> Edited by - Tritonal on Mar 31 2003 3:22 PM |

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>At one point, he was denounced for his reporting about an allied bombing of a baby milk factory in Baghdad that the military said was a biological weapons plant. The U.S. military responded vigorously to the suggestion it had targeted a civilian facility, but Arnett stood by his reporting that the plant’s sole purpose was to make baby formula. Arnett was also the on-air reporter of a 1998 CNN report that accused U.S. forces of using sarin gas on a Laotian village in 1970 to kill U.S. defectors. Two CNN employees were sacked, and Arnett was reprimanded over the report, which the station later retracted. Arnett later left the network. <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote> "<---Jesus Powers My Hotrod---<<<" "My purpose in life does not include a hankering to charm society." |

I think he reserves the right to be a moron. He also reserves the right to be a moron on international television. The United States of America is an equal stupidity employer that lets people make an absolute fool of themselves completely on their own. I feel that <font color=red>WE</font id=red> and any other Marine or Grunt that runs across him reserves the absolute right to kick his #*@?!!!!!! |

He's been hired by a Brittish Tabloid. I don't have a link to the article but it was reported yesterday. 1. Don't look conspicuous; it draws fire. 2. Never draw fire; it irritates everyone around you. |

I've heard some people call him Bagdad Pete, along the lines of Hanoi Jane. They can both have a traitor party together in Hell. "See that green switch? Flip it down." |
