A little political review, a time to think & remember... From a Navy man... After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished. After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished. After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured ! 200 U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished. After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000; Clinton promised that those responsible! would be hunted down and punished. After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S. sailors; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished. Maybe if Clinton had kept his promise, an estimated 3,000 people in New York and Washington, D.C. that are now dead would be alive today. AN INTERESTING QUESTION: This question was raised on a Philly radio call-in show. Without casting stones, it is a legitimate question. There are two men, both extremely wealthy. One develops relatively cheap software and gives billions of dollars to charity. The other sponsors terrorism. That being the case, why was it that the Clinton Administration spent more money chasing down Bill Gates over the past eight years than Osama bin Laden? THINK ABOUT IT! It is a strange turn of events. Hillary gets $8 Million for her forthcoming memoir. Bill gets about $12 Million for his memoir yet to be written. This from two people who have spent the past 8 years being unable to recall anything about past events while under oath! Sincerely, Cmdr Hamilton McWhorter USN(ret) P. S. Please forward this to as many people as you can! We don't want this woman to even THINK of running for President. |

When asked under oath (by Sen. Al Gore, this was during Iran-Contra) about what he would do about the man he considered the most evil & dangerous man in the world, Col. Oliver North said he would organize a hit squad to assasinate him. His remarks were not well recieved. Who was Col. North referring to? Osama Bin Laden "Do nothing today, pay Hell tomorrow." Colonel Oliver North cited assassination threats by Abu Nidal, leader of the terrorist organization Fatah Revolutionary Council, as the reason he accepted the home security system from Richard Secord. He never mentioned Osama. Al Gore was not a member of the Senate Select Committee and so did not question Oliver North. This one has been going around for some time... All the way... I was in Basic Training, and our TI asked us what we knew about terroism and terrorists. When he asked if we could name a terrorist, I was called on, I stood up, gave my reporting statement and named bin Laden. My TI looked at me and said "Who??" so I explained to him that he had been named by Oliver North during the Iran-Contra era hearings, and that he was suspected behind some of the aforementioned attacks. My TI didn't know whether to take me seriously, or to assume I was blowing smoke up his arse. --Raven "For democracy, a man would give his only begotten son." |

If I was Off, I apologize, I've been trying to find a transcript of that hearing, but so far no luck. Should have known better than to trust my source, guess I should be working for NBC! Again my apologies for the error. <img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle> "The First Rule in a Gunfight: Have a gun. If you violate this rule, no other rules apply" Jeff Cooper |

Wow, I learn something new everyday. I remember hearing that Oliver North said that bin Laden was the one man on earth that scared him to death, or something to that effect. --Raven "For democracy, a man would give his only begotten son." |

Thanks for the link. I hadn't visited there in a while. Hate to admit it, but it never occured to me to check that story out there. Live & learn, I guess. "The First Rule in a Gunfight: Have a gun. If you violate this rule, no other rules apply" Jeff Cooper |
