OK, there have been a few negative posters popping up lately, so here is my response. (Since the topics get locked B4 I can get a shot in.)

To all you guys (and ladies) who are, or have served in our armed forces.

Thank You.

Thank You for the risks you took, the b%llsh!t you put up with, and the time you took to "do it right".

Thank You for the freedom to express myself without fear. Thanks, even, for the freedom some of these idiots have to express themselves.

Thank You for the right to laugh at an "Information Minister" straight from comedy central. Thank You that we don't have a U.S. minister of Information.

Thank You for the knowledge that my wife, my children, and I sleep without fear of secret police, death squads and concentration camps.

Thank You for being the kind of soldiers, sailors, and airmen that, at every chance, demonstrate humanity, even to a wounded enemy who wouldn't do the same.

Thank You for the guns, the vote, and about a thousand other things I can't remember right now.

Thank You, most of all, to the boys who didn't come home. We will never forget.

God Bless you all.

Good speech, 2drezq

Missing that kind of spirit here in Germany.

I've always been proud of my country. I was raised that way. But now, I'm so proud of "our boys", I can't find the words to express it.

well, I´m not one of "the boys" but I think you found very good words to express your pride.

I don´t watch german news no more, I just can´t hear this stuff any more... (Too bad, where I´m living now, there´s no AFN on the TV...)

I don't understand much of it, but what I do follow, it seems like the Germany news puts a bit of a negative slant on the war coverage. I am just glad to see that there are some on our side, and not just the ones that have their "sit-ins" blocking our front gate.

ThelastRaven, you´re right with most german coverage of the war, that´s why I don´t watch it any more. (with some few exceptions; usually I switch on BBC since I don´t receive AFN)
I wished there was just more support for the US/UK.
I can´t help, I have to say that many many many people in Germany either are completly dumb or naive.

And some of these news-guys are just sooo stupid. E.g., they showed an A-10 dropping flares and said something like "This jet as you see is dropping a lot of bombs right now.."
Hey, if you have absolutley no idea about anything in a war, why are you on TV ??????

No no no, those couldn't of been flares. Those must of been the Tactical Nukes, that made the vacuum, that pulled Iraqi Civilians out of thier homes, so the American tanks could shoot them in the streets...
