I like empire also, mainly because its one of the few movies that the badguy wins. ![]() 1. Don't look conspicuous; it draws fire. 2. Never draw fire; it irritates everyone around you. |

Can't go wrong with the Empire; it's most people's favorite. VI is great for the fantastic special effects in space and its imagination. |

I like em all for different reasons. If they had just left out those STUPID Ewoks I would have loved Jedi! ( I'm gonna make a "directors cut" without the "teddy bears" LOL). But "Clones" gives me the best Portman caps . I was hoping Menace would have gone farther back to when the Jedi had been formed. ok guys if you start preaching the enlightment of the force, and chasing mark hamilton around I am outta hear. Nothing is worse that a trekki, than a force worshiper. lol So how many conventions have you guys been too. (sorry saw the raw meat could resist the comment, but yes for entertainment value they were great movies) |

Conventions!? I honestly never seen or cared for Star Trek movies. If I you ever have a question about the movie, characters, production, etc. go here: http://www.starwars.com/databank/ Edited by - Tritonal on Apr 19 2003 5:01 PM |

Star Trek Conventions? Eight. But remember, I grew up in CA, where all these things take place! It was just a Saturday afternoon thing for me. And my geek friends! Never been to a Star Wars convention... "See that green switch? Flip it down." |

B5 was a great show, lots of politics and characters to love/hate. "*Who am I*? I am Susan Ivanova, Commander, daughter of Andrei and Sophie Ivanova. I am the right hand of vengeance, and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth... I am Death Incarnate, and the last living thing that you are ever going to see. God sent me." (they open fire) --Ivanova The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. - Edmund Burke |

Alien staring down Capt. Kirk and his landing party, who have aimed their phasers at it: "Your energy weapons have been drained by our superior technology, pitiful human scum!" Capt. Kirk, reaching under his gold shirt: "Tell me, oh ugly one, Have you ever heard of John Browning?" FX: sound of 1911 slide being racked. Alien: "Oh Shit!" I'm a huge star wars fan, and a mild star trek fan (seen every episode of voyager). I think the real screwed up on the last two star wars movies, their actors sucked! My Favorite is The Jedi returns! And I like the ewoks and I think they were a nice touch! I don't think the Ewoks to have that much success and have the die a little more. Or see a battle of some star destroyers and some larger rebel Cruisers. Oh well I hope episode 3 is good. "my heart is with them, but my mind has contempt for them. I want peace, but I know how to get it, and they do not." - Woodrow Wilson |

Too much Sci Fi for me here; I'm just a StarWars fan. And one other thing, I think the DoD should fund this:
quote:
The Alliance drew many needed supplies by raiding Imperial convoys with their venerated X-wing and Y-wing starfighters. In response to this piracy, the Empire countered with heavily armed starships -- escort frigates -- protecting their shipments. The Alliance countered with the B-wing starfighter. Developed by the insectoid Verpine of the Roche asteroid field, under the supervision of Admiral Ackbar, the B-wing starfighter is a bizarre-looking craft. Like other Verpine vessels, the B-wing has a complex gyroscopic control system that keeps a pilot along a single orientation during maneuvers. Though this stabilizes the ship as a weapons platform, the gyroscope is an engineering and maintenance nightmare. The B-wing carries an extremely powerful array of weapons, including a heavy ion cannon, proton torpedoes, auto-blasters and a trio of laser cannons. Alternate configurations feature three laser cannons, three ion cannons, and twin torpedo launchers. Since the vessel is designed to engage capital ships, it has phenomonal firepower, but lacks speed and maneuverability.

And this:
quote:
With its sleek arrowhead shape, streamlined cockpit and massive twin engines, the A-wing starfighter suggests raw speed even when parked within Alliance hangar bays. Faster than even the TIE interceptor, the A-wing is well suited for lightning strikes. It sports a pair of pivoting laser cannons on each wingtip. The starfighters of Green Squadron, which flew in the Battle of Endor, were made up of A-wing starfighters.

Edited by - Tritonal on Apr 20 2003 9:31 PM |

GOD lol I remember flying A wings and B wings in that ancient Star Wars DOS game LOL. Amadala hot? yeah but I prefered her in the "empress mode" in Phantom Menace, that voice ooooo <shudders> lovin it LOL. Oh BTW the B5 folks pitched the B5 idea to the Star Trek suits who stole it for Deep Space 9( that's why DS9 went from the original idea that it was to be a return to the "old style" of the original Star Trek with more action adventure farther out in space, to a space station setting. And why (Lo and Behold) when Voyager came out it was (hhhmm....) set in DEEP SPACE and featured 9 main characters ( yes it was the resurected ORIGINAL idea for DS9) "We sleep safely in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would harm us".
