Once everyone is home from the gulf, and no longer under any no alcohol rules. We would like to know how the brewers made out this time around. Anything with market potential? |

From "Student's Vegetarian Cookbook" Beer Pancakes Preparation time: 5 minutes Cooking time: about 3 minutes for each pancake Eat these intriguing pancakes for breakfast or dessert. They are a good way to use up leftover beer from a party. 1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 egg 3 tablespoons oil 1 tablespoon honey 1 can (12 ounces) beer Instructions: 1) In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and baking soda, and mix well. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, oil, and honey with a fork. 2) Add the liquid mixture and the beer to the dry ingredients; stir just until a smooth batter is formed. The batter will be somewhat lumpy and slightly thick. 3) Lightly oil a medium nonstick skillet, and place it over medium heat until hot. Pour 1/4 cup of the batter at a time onto the skillet. Cook the pancakes until the bottoms are golden brown and the tops begin to bubble. Flip them over, and cook until the undersides are golden brown. Serve with maple syrup. Yield: About 14 (4-inch) pancakes. If you guys give this a try, let me know how they turn out. I haven't tried it yet! "See that green switch? Flip it down." |

I would have to say that the in-theater alcohol ban is not as airtight as many may think. Anyway... Beer can chicken anyone? Pretty easy, open a can of your choice--the key is to not drink it, boys, put the chicken on the can and get on the grill, standing up. I'll post the whole recipe if anyone's interested. |
