The ban covered all small bore and full bore centre fire and rimfire semi auto pistols and revolvers.
I think you can still have a single shot .22RF pistol (woohoo, I'm off Grizzly hunting) but don't quote me.
You can still have semi auto .22RF rifles and full bore lever action carbines and bolt action rifles and best of all, semi auto shotguns, which we all know are completely harmless.
The dickheads in charge were mainly worried about easy to conceal pistols and the like. A sniping based incident obviously hasn't crossed their tiny minds.
I can’t understand the UK gun ban. They took away my .22, 9mm, .357, .44 and .45 (paid me more than I paid for them ) because they were dangerous (Really… I had always wondered!!! ) But quite happily let me buy a tricked up little .22
I know it’s only a .22 but 25 rounds of HP are going to be a slight inconvenience to something. But obviously it’s not DANGEROUS or anything ...
A lot of my mates took their money and bought 5.56 or 7.62 bolt actions. I prefered capacity and rate of fire (spray and pray) over range and power. And seeing how the biggest thing I'm going after is bunnies the little Ruger is fine.
So Boomer, I like the thought that I'm some sort of outlaw, but I'm a good boy staying on the right side (most of the time) law…
Interestingly enough, in the UK if you are after vermin, you can still use expanding ammo.
I guess it’s down to the definition of vermin… How about folk who ambush 6 MPs that are trying to help them…
Any way,
Boomer, you’re damn right about the weight difference. But look at it like this. If you run dry you can always beat something to death with your stock LOL!!!
I got the folding stock to make life easier getting in and out of the car. But it’s totally FUBAR’s the balance. With a sodding heavy suppressor at the front and less weight at the back, the balance is now interesting. Put it this way, I’m glad rabbits don’t fly…
