Goose check price watch have great deals their on mb and chips you might beable to get sweet deal saw some 1800 AMD motherboards for 75.

As for nortons it is crap. Stay a way from it, as for recovering it that depends on how well you followed the recover disk process. Even then there are no guarentees.

MY PROBLEM IS I GOT A E-MACHINE T3100 P 111 /1G /30G HARD DRIVE CDRW AND 256 MB.
IF I WANT TO CHANGE OUT SAY THE GRAPHICS I HAVE TO CHANGE THE MOTHERBOARD.ALL IN ONE.

I LIKE THE NORTON SYSTEM WORKS BUT DONT USE THE RECOVERY FEATURE.

IS THERE SOME WAY OF TURNING OFF ALL THE BACKGROUND PROGRAMS,WELL GETTING THEM ONLY TO RUN OFF THE MAIN LIST INSTEAD OF SELF STARTING?

TinyGiant has started a Computer retail Buiz. I'm sure he could take real good care of you.

If you need the chip i can send it to you or TinyG and he can add it to the system. I also have a Video Card manufacturer that sends me free High end Cards.

I think we need to get Goose a quality Pc going so he Gun Run some tanks in LOMAC!

Before Gooses Health gets anyworse, preventing him from enjoying the visual quality of this Sim.

Sorry, haven't been monitoring this thread. Thanks for the heads up, Mudd. Goose, I'll look into what I can do. But before I do, I need to know what you want in a computer. Obviously for gaming, but are you looking for a P4 system, and AMD etc etc. Let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I THINK MOSTLY A P4/OR AMD CDRW/DVDRW ALOT OF RAM/ 30 PLUS HARDDRIVE.
GRAPHICS ARE GOOD TOO BUT WONT BE DOING ANY GAMING BUT WILL WANT TO FART AROUND WITH DG PHOTO'S AND SUCH.
THEN THE GOOD OLE INTERNET SURFING,DIAL-UP IS SLOW BUT CANT SEE GOING SAT.ISP TILL I CAN GET THE MOST OUT OF IT.

IN THE END I WOULD BE HAPPY WITH JUST THE E MACHINE UPGRADE BOARD

ITS 2G/P4/256 RAM 40GIG HARDDRIVE BETTER GRAPHICS. I HAVE A EMPTY SLOT FOR DVDRW.

JUST GOT TO GET IT CHEAP ENOUGH.

WANT,WANT,WANT, SOUND LIKE A DAMN 6 YEAR OLD!

double that hard drive Goose I got a 20 that's clogged and when I get time I'm putting in an 80. Relatively speaking HDs are cheap, my 80WD cost $100 LAST november!!

THAT WOULD BE NICE A 80GIG HARD DRIVE.

I SEE GATEWAY HAS THAT 120 GIG HD WITH 3.0 PROCESSOR 512RAM SDD ,XYZ,PDQ WHATEVER STUFF IT MEANS.

AND THIS NEW HYPER THREADING STUFF,WHAT IS IT?
I HAVE TO USE DIAL-UP,I'M TOO FAR IN THE BOONIES FOR DSL/CABLE THE PHONE LINES ARE SO OUT OF DATE AND THEY WANT 69.00 A MONTH PLUS 300 EQUIPMENT FOR SAT.ISP.

I THINK MY DREAM PUTER WOULD BE

AMD PROCESSOR THAT IS 2.5 OR BIGGER
80 GIG HD
512MB RAM/SDD
1 BAY WITH CDRW
1 BAY WITH DVDRW
REALLY NICE GRAPHICS
EEEE1 CARD (?)
56K MODEM

I ALREADY HAVE A 15"LCD MONITOR,BUT WOULD TAKE A BIGGER ONE

I CAN DREAM. BUT THEN AGAIN YOU CAN SEE I'M A COMPUTER NOVICE

Goose,

Give me a coupla days and I'll see what I can put together for you. With a coupla contacts and with what Mudd might be able to get, we may be able to put something together for you pretty cheap. Plus, I've got some extra parts that've been sent to me for promo stuff.

I'll get back to you here.

from what I've been reading "hyper threading " is about 1/3 BS cause the software isnt avaiable to make full use of the tech.

If any of you are interested in my company configuring a "LO-MAC" or other high-end gaming computer, let me know. I can set a good price for WT members. I've been selling Alienware clones for a lot cheaper than Alienware, but that isn't necessarily what everyone here is looking for.

Meanwhile, we'll still look at some kind of setup for goose.

Boomer,

I think we're getting a little too sensitive if we're filing suit for BS like that (the master and slave labels on hard drives).

Stinger,

It's my business. Not going away anytime soon and I'm happy to offer lower prices for the proven members here at WT (unlike this beefeaterjim guy who has 50+ posts today alone!).
