yeah I've got "styrene poisoning" LOL but I havent really touched one in 2 years, got several more Hornets and Super Hornets to build as well as really good F-111s. I do everything in 1/72 scale and the hog from Academy/Minicraft is sweet and falls together right out of the box. Now that I got a digicam I guess I ought to take some pics and show off <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

What SH brand have you got, Boomer?
I always remembered Hasegawa made the best and the most detail.

Italeri, I havent even opened them up so I have NO idea how good they are.
Yeah Hasagawa is good stuff but pricy. I have an F-15E from Hasagawa, it IS excellent but only slightly better than the F-15E from Ertl the Hasa was like $32 and the Ertl $15. I really like the "weapons kit" models you can get from Hasa, nothing but various weapons. Thier MK-84 and CBU are really good.lol I made really excellent AIR-82s, JSOWs, JDAMS, and LGBs and then made a split 2 piece mold of them so I could just pour resin in and get as many of those weapons as I needed !! Got an F-15 610 fuel tank and a CSRL for my bombers in that mold too lol

also made molds for the engine pods on B-52G, and wheels for B-1B that I was gonna use for my 1/72 scale C-17.

There is a real sweet kit by I believe Hasegawa / Minicraft at a shop right down the road. It is 1/32 but it is almost a hundred bucks. The wife told me not to come home with it.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

I'm a 1/72 guy, too, and HobbyCraft and Hasegawa seem to have the best A-10s, though the Monogram 1/72 is not bad at all, just raised panel lines. I've got fantasies of converting the 1/72 Hasegawa A-10 kit to the two-seater varient with a conversion kit that's out there. I've got the Monogram 1/48 kit that I started 15 years ago sitting in a box somewhere needing reassembly and finishing. The 1/32 Trumpeter is a beauty and one that HAS to be done fully detailed and fully opened as a "crew-chiefs' delight."

This list of A-10 models I HAVE to build in 1/72?...

The Alaskan experimental winter scheme
Flipper
Peanut
The three (four?) JAWS schemes
Satan's 6, with the 666 tail-code (Though I fear the potential for disaster during construction of this one: Think airhose snaking around and rearing like a cobra, spraying everywhere, on its own...)
Goose's A-10 with door art and his tag on the side, "crew-chiefs' delight" with open panels and super-detailing at his satisfaction. My goal is to catch nuances and subtleties of HIS plane (I think I still have the notes you sent me. Need to print those and store them).
The two-seater
YA-10, properly modified with tail fins and forward fuselage.

Any that would be cool I might have missed?

<i>I'm a 1/72 guy, too,...</i>

I liked 1/72 the best as well; however, I remember how difficult it was to accurately camoflauge my 1/72 scale F-15C.

Both size and money. I have a pretty small house and she has been competing with F14's and A10's for eighteen years. I have a hard time convincing her to let me keep more 'airplane crap!' around her house. Between my Horatio Nelson book collection and school stuff hanging around I am bustin at the seams. Dont get me wrong I am open for donations to the 'Buy Billy a Bigger House Fund'.

I just got back into plastic models after a year or 2 with not building. I just bought a 1/72 lawn dart off of ebay for 10 bucks, and I'm turning it into an ANG plane from Arkansas. I hope to build an ANG plane for every state or at least the ones surrounding and in mine. I like the 1/48 Revell A-10, from about 10 years ago, that was my first custom job.

Just scored a Hasegawa A-10 at tonight's Christmas party! It's old tooling and raised panel lines, so I think the Monogram 1/72 issue may be superior. Don't know if Hasegawa has come out with a new A-10 with new tooling, though.

Goose, I'm still trying to figure out how to make photo etch and properly super-detail that 1/144 A-10. lol

wimp lol, I bought 1 brass detail kit in my life , for that Hasa Strike Eagle, wasnt half as good as what I can make on my own lol although the resin ACES II WAS good enough that I made a mold of it so I can repeat as many as I need.

I used to be really into plastic models, small/medium sized Italeri ones, but then my little cousin got hold of them, and school got serious. Recently I built an F-15 out of a wood starter kit. It took me about half an hour. Who knows, I might get back into it...

I saw a massive 1/16 (I think...) scale C-130. I almost blew my load in my pants thinking of having that. It was orgasmic.

A 1/32 A10 kit would rock. I have wanted to build one with the same configuration 166 had the night it shacked those guys up by the damn. I want to display the flag I flew in it during that mission with the certificate.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson
