Is it standard to have the front-edge slats down when pulling this maneuver?

By my calculations he was about 20 knots away from a mode 2 ejection.......and the same fate as the jet.......strewn across the infield. Very lucky dude.

The leading edges Slats are controlled by the FLCS in High AOA manuevers. They are not Commandable per say like a conventional aircraft.

Pete, the leading edge flaps are a function of airspeed and angle of attack. Pilot has no control of the function of them. It shows a high angle of attack for them to be that far down (no doubt from a high sink rate). Sorry Mudd......I must have posted the same time as you.
