I was trying to find out the history on the peace sign that are on the patchs being offer on this web site. I remember that sign of peace in protest on the war in the '70s. I think it would be a poor representation of our pride to allow this symbol to creep its way BACK into our lifes, without looking at the history on this broken cross trapped in a circle.
I believe this symbol was needed to remind us all that we need peace in this world. And it was a main focus of those here in the USA at the time of the Vietnam era. But, wasn't those same people wearing that patch, the same people who treated the men and women of the armed forces coming home from war like dirt. Maybe this sign is coming back with a new image !? I don't know. Anybody know better ??

"PEACE THROUGH SUPERIOR FIREPOWER" is hardly a pacifist message. ;)

Ronald Reagan had some good lines. "Trust, yes, but verify". And the carrier USS Reagan motto is "Peace through strength" which, I believe, is a paraphrase of a comment Reagan made in an interview before leaving office in the 80's.
