"As Americans, and as lawyers, we have sustained throughout our personal and professional lives a deeply ingrained sense of justice (see www.henrymarkholzer.com and www.erikaholzer.com), and here was an opportunity to help correct a grievous wrong." I feel sick. Did the lawyers just compare themselves to VFWs??? Ah yes, a deeply ingrained sense of justice, and not greed...is the motivator of laywers. Please... |

I WOULDNT JUST SAY THE VFW IS NOTHING BUT A CLUB AND BARS WHERE YOU GO TO DRINK ALOT. THE VFW IS OPENED TO VETERANS WHO HAVE CERTAIN CAMPAIGN RIBBIONS OR MEDALS FROM OVERSEAS CONFLICTS OR WARS. THE VFW ISNT OPENED TO ALL VETS LIKE THE AMERICAN LEGION . ITS A CHARTER GRANTED BY CONGRESS FROM WAY BACK IN THE SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR. THE VFW ALONG WITH THE REST OF VETERAN ORGS,AMERICAN LEGION,AMVETS,PVA,DAV AND VIETNAM VERTANS FIGHT EVERYDAY WITH POLITICAL ACTION GROUPS FOR VETERAN RIGHTS AND BENEFITS. BUT ALOT OF THESE GROUPS SUPPORT WHAT THE CHAPTER DOES BY HAVING BARS,BINGO,RAFFLES ETC..... NO GROUP CAN COMPARE ITS SELF WITH ANY OF THESE ORG FOR SUPPORTING THE VETERANS PRESS TO TEST |

no disrespect intended Goose, I was short on time and trying to get some of the basics across, plus I'm not a member so some of the nuances of the organization escape my attention. You look as lost as a bastard child on Fathers day. |

The VFW hosted a party for the USS Albuquerque (my boat) last year and introduced us a little bit to the public. They were very supportive and we each got a free drink at their bar. He is not only dull himself, but the cause of dullness in others. --Samuel Johnson, LL.D |
