See that picture at the top. Could it be any older "File Footage"? I don't think that jet was in Alexandria. It's from early flight testing of the YA-10, Tail #11369. It still has the 20mm gun installed. I wonder why they picked that picture. We have the same thing happening with the F-22. No matter how much recent photography is around, press articles keep using prototype photos with stories of the production aircraft. Go figure.

Don't know who personally designed the poster for Hawg Smoke Show.

Here in central Louisiana we have traditionally been provided with many A-10 sightings, just south of Alexandria is the Claiborne Bombing and Gunnery Range, located within the Kisatchie Nat. Forest, the area has tons of military history, including being used for Barksdale AFB Air-to-Ground Gunnery Range, the 917th A-10 from Barksdale still use the range today, there are hiking trails on the Nat. Forest, where you can hike and get a great view of the A-10 activity, (you might want to bring ear plugs) England Airpark has traditionally supported the use of the range and Barksdale air craft, so early prototype A-10 may have flown over the range and through central LA many times, however origin of photo is unknown.
