Hey fender, thanks for missing me! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> I am indeed in Japan, but don't have my internet hooked up yet so my surfing has been cut down quite a bit. (I'm also not on casual status anymore, so I actually have to start working again. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>) Okinawa is beautiful, scuba diving is a blast, and well, life is good all around. Tonight there is going to be the first taiphun of the season, so the rest of my unit went to Guam and left me (the only 2LT and the newest kid, go figure) to watch the shop. But I got some Jack to go with my Coke, so this one should be fun! I should start flying next week or the week after, and after that I will be doing chanel runs (Okinawa, Yakota, Osan, Kunsan, back again) for a while getting mission qual. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you view it, it is very unlikely that I will be seeing any sand in the next 3 years. But we do a lot of work with the 15s, the AWACS and the RCs stationed here. Secret squirrel kind of stuff as well as aeromedical evacuations and a tad bit of trash hauling. A few weeks ago I watched a 4-ship of A-10s come up initial and land. So awesome. Our overhead pattern is almost the size of the freaking island, and all four of them were right over the base!
