http://teamhouse.tni.net/Misc/airborne/mishaps.htm If you have drops like this...then who needs enemies? "Thier broken, beaten, and now leaderless. Let them bitterly stew in thier defeat." Edited by - Lunatock on Jul 02 2004 08:47 AM |

Yeah the last one reminds me of the Buck Tractor Pulls disaster. Four members of the 82nd parachuted in as part of a show. The wind was calm when they jumped from a hovering Chinook...but between there and the ground 30mph gusts were waiting for them. "Thier broken, beaten, and now leaderless. My uncle was a reservist attatched to the 101st Airborne in the 70s and has some very funny stories of airdropped howitzers and jeeps not quite making it in one piece. LOL. "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction" Ronald Reagan |

Reminds me of a story one my one high school teachers told me. His unit was supposed to drop into a large open field on a training mission. The aircrew missed the LZ completely and dropped them into a swamp instead. |
