As some of you on the board may know I'm getting ready to retire and was wondering if any of you who have been through the process could give some advice as how to make the transition run smoothly. I know about and have already gotten copies of my Medical/Dental and Personnel records and will have to set up an appointment with the VA when I return to the states.

Anything you would have or should have done to save you some heartburn? Any Input will be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Be sure to take the 3 day tap seminar. Get your resume done and sent out now. Are you retiring at port?

Went through TAPS about two months ago and while I don't have my resume completed yet It is in the works. I'll be retiring back in the states after terminal/permissive.

Thanks for the info...

Hitler, my retirement went pretty smooth, not counting the fact I was HQ/ACC working on an ALC base with no OR to work through. My biggest problem has been my sceruity clearance, it was never up-dated so now I have to get a new background check through my company...what a pain!! I still don't have a work computer or linebadge because of it.

Well, Hitler, obviously I have no input on how to retire, thats way to far in my future to even dream about, but I do want to say one thing. I remember once, I think it was right before we left Pope, you saying how the 75th got along fine before, and will get along fine afterwards, how one person is not the be all and end all of the AF. So, yeah, the AF will get along fine without you, but it definitely wont be the same without you. I will always be grateful for all the things I've learned from you, and all the good times had. Enjoy retirement, you've earned it. But of course this isn't goodbye. I'm not that easy to get rid of. I'll still see you around here and on AIM and such. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

Without ME, it's just AWESO
