A friend of mine, he sat next to me in 3rd period Chemistry class, told us he'd see us today. We were going to make peanut brittle as a Christmasy lab project to round off the last week of school. He was laughing, smiling, just a normal 17 year old kid. Played Varsity Football. Just a good guy.

He hung himself sometime this morning.

We found out over the anouncements as I'm sitting to his vacant seat. We just thought he was absent. Suicide? Death? Never crossed our minds.

I've never cried so long... All day. Its just tearing our school down. Our little 'bubble' of sanity and peacefulness just popped.

I'm still crying, and I just wanted to ask you guys to pray for his family. His name is Ryan. Ryan O'Boyle.

Thanks.

My condolences to the family and to you for an aquaintance in your life. While i have nothing but emapthy for you and this circumstance. I would turn that Frown upside down, and try to understand that you are now more observent of these type of things in your life and these situations will continue to approach you through out your adult life.

When these type of things happen in my life, and trust me ive lost people in both accidents and Suicides. I always honor my friends with remembering their Strengths and happiness they brought to me. I also understand that dwelling on the Why's will get you nowhere. Its not up to you or me. Their is no Devine answer that makes it easy. Crying is good, get it off your chest, and don't carry it as baggage.

You can choose to grow from this or allow it to make you a victim.

Whilst it's important to grieve and work through this in your own way, there will be a chance you and all his other friends might start to feel guilty for not spotting he was in trouble.

You will start to ask yourselves what could we have done to have helped him and perhaps stopped him from taking the course of action that he did.

It might be a hard thing to hear, but sometimes there is nothing you could have done and no matter what anybody tried to do, your friend will still have taken his own life.

Take Mudd's advice remember the positive, it's a far better tribute.

Best wishes to you all and I hope you get through this OK.
