Not guilty, I think it is better to put him in jail for an year.
So you can give alcohol to little children when I heard the words "not guilty" at that verdict.
I come from a free and libral country what use of alcohol and drugs, but we thought he was guilty at something.

Dutchy,

Your countries reputation for letting weird $hit go is well known in the UK, so if you guys thought there was something weird going on, that's proof of guilt in my book...

This morning I spoke more people and everybody can not believe he is cleared of all verdicts. At least they say he must be guilty for one or two.

I agree with everyone's sentiments, but hey, it's our system. From what I've heard the jury found REASONABLE DOUBT for THIS case. Several of the jurors felt he was guilty of this type crime, but not in this case. Apparently the prosecution's star witness really got on the jury's bad side by over acting...things like snapping her fingers at them, rolling her eyes, etc. Plus she apparently has a history of going after people/corporations for alleged injuries. >shrug< And her son supposedly was copping an attitude, as well. So, maybe he was guilty of this one, maybe not. But I think the SOB is guilty of the crime itself, no doubt. One can only hope there's a Freightliner out there somewhere with his name on the tire treads.

So the verdict is in, Become famous, an entertainment personality, and you can bugger all the children and gut as many ex-wives like a trout as you want. The Courtroom has become marketing toy for these knuckleheads.

The jury didn't have more than circumstancial evidence and the boy's slimeball mother screwed that up. This is one time I wish we had adopted the napoleonic legal tradition from Louisiana. I'd rather one innocent man be wrongly convicted so that 40 slimeballs get what they deserve and 40 slimeballs walk to save the rights of one man.

Dutchy,

That's the way it was intended, you guys have a laid back approach to 'relaxing' that is pretty cool. I agree that doesn't extend to Kids, so please don't take offence.

As for the rest of the thread,

Whilst this case MIGHT have been dubious, there is no way the guy isn't a kiddy buggering freak and hasn't gotten up to this for real in the past.

I wish we could just convict people because we KNOW they are guilty without all this reasonable doubt $hit.

It's the same in the UK. Watching some smug piece of filth get off on a technicality or a bit of badly presented evidence or becuase their legal team was better/slimier than the prosecutions make me want to hurl...

Let me assure you in Louisiana this trial would not have taken three months. If the trial happened down thibodaux way lets just say Mike would have blinked his eyes and it would have been over.

Well put!

This is a data point for my theory that the jurisprudence system in the USA, and especially in California, is broken. Courts get it wrong 50% of the time on average. That includes being 100% wrong when celebrities are involved (e.g. O.J., Robert Blake, Michael Jackson). Currently, I would recommend avoidance of the court system, especially if you are innocent. You have a 50/50 chance of being convicted, guilty or not. Of course that means that 50% of the criminals get off too. I know minority groups have always been saying that the courts are unfair to them, and I thought it was just whining. However, now I think they may have something. What they fail to see is that the court system is unfair/inconsistent to everyone. If you are accused of a crime, you are better off running. Get out of the country fast , or go underground, because you are rolling the dice to get justice here. Imagine what it is like in third world countries. I shudder to think.

Stress,

I'd follow you up to a compound in the mountains after that speech ...

Mattlots point is interesting, is life/justice/morals in California really that screwed up?

Do we think it would have gone a different way in another state?

BTW...

quote:
Mike would have blinked his eyes and it would have been over

That's a physically imposibility, his skin's been pulled so tight with all the facelifts, he's incapable of blinking.

Which in a way is good, because he'd have to keep his eye open whilst he got a PROPER chemical peel...
