the telling point of it is that the unions would NEVER consider just getting thier nose out of politics and letting thier members vote for who they wanted to lol

Unless they're sitting on the beach spending the members' retirement!

That's what I meant...if their heads are already there, shitting, excuse me, sitting on the beach would be difficult and uncomfortable.

The unions have had their head up their ass so long they can't smell shit anymore.

Unions have had PAC funds for as long as they have been.
I use to hate selling RAFFLE tickets for the fund but did it because you had to have the Lobby group looking out for your intrests on the hill.
Labor laws etc....

Now all unions belong under the AFL-CIO and it tries to push certain people down the chain, really it comes down to the trade your in.

But you have to remember that just because the Head of the AFL-CIO wants this person doesnt mean everyone does.
Local Unions I dealt with would disagree with their choices, and They would pick their own list of who was best for them locally.
We had about a even split on the ticket and We posted it in the paper, right along several other groups who had their own picks

Our own company had its own Lobbyist and they would give us an hour with pay to fill-out form letters to members of Congress anytime drug pricing came under fire.

Now I read the comments, heard them before but if your going to go that route then you have to lump a couple of other groups in there

THE NRA- supported Bush and the Republican party,I know that for a fact with all the NRA mail I got and the Phone calls asking for money to support them. They would always lump all democrates in the same group anti-gun which not all our, just like not all republicans are Pro-gun

AMA,AARP,The list goes on and on,every group has full time lobbyist who do exactly as the AFL-CIO does, raise money and push who the "BIG WIGS WANT"

Now all Veteran Org'S CANT PUSH ANY PARTY,because their chartered by Congress but,They spend alot of PAC money too.

Corp's do the samething, they might not openly do it,but compaines have "Contests or RAFFLES, etc... saying it goes to a certain cause, but without the employees knowning the part of the money raised is used for pushing political parties.

Churches SHOULD NEVER PUSH ANY PARTY ,because they under tax exempt status cant .
They can push an issue but not a canidate or party.

So its a messy flipping thing where if you look at the Parties FUND RAISERS,
You'll see the same names on bothsides giving money,CYA

You should never be told who to vote for,by any group unless its a 100%,which wont ever happen maybe if theirs 10 that form it.

So yes I agree that the AFL-CIO has their ass in the sand but so do alot of others.

GOOSE
