Have any of you seen this yet?

http://kh.google.com/download/earth/index.html

It takes a hefty broadband connection to run it, but it's simply astonishing...

It is isn't it...

There's only one thing missing, it would be really cool to be able to target designate A-10's from it.

I've noticed Iraq is done in pretty high detail ...

This is amazing I've spent the last two weeks just looking up stuff with it. For the past week I have been looking at Air ports and seeing if I can ID aircraft, kinda stupid I know but I'm having fun doing it. But I found this image I like up at Anchorage Alaska.

I think the other Air planes are just out classed.

Man,

I got an awesome picture I wanted to post but for some reason I can't. But here is the Lat/Long for it. Start searching....

37:14'40.41 N | 115:49'07.90 W

Hint: Western U.S.

Correct. The zoomed in pics are pretty sweet. Lawndarts and something else there. Not sure when the pic was taken but something is hanging out near the hanger!

Wonder if this one will work better than Mudd's satelite image link? Trying to find my town, then house after dropping a marker in the front yard lead to an amazing discovery...there are lots & lots of farms and fields spaced out inbetween towns in the area.

I only run 1024x728, some areas have more final detail than others, cities more than rural for instance. The woods behind my childhood home in Saint Louis is nothing but paved malls now :-(

Have you guys noticed anything about the level of detail?

Apart from your own good country, the majority of the place that have a high level of resolution are the place your goodselves have either bombed, or want to bomb ...

Check it out, Moscow, Beijing, Tripoli, Baghdad, Paris.

Is it just a co-incidience..?
