Happy Thanksgiving to the WT and the Military Armed Forces fighting or keeping watch all over the world. Most of us have been there ,away from family and friends, Working on a broke bird, sitting on alert,"Turning and Burning" for CAS missions or on the other hand Some of the others going door to door trying to "Flush Out"BAD GUYS. Some of us have ate "Real nice Dinners with all the trimmings," in the Chow Halls , we've eaten at Friends houses, or gone to "McKee'D's" but we still have to remember not all get that choice. They might be eatting the Good'OLE turkey Roll or the MRE dinner somewhere in the "SandBox". Some say "Man it must suck being away from family", Who said were away from "Family"? Those folks you work, sleep and eat with everyday are "Family" Some of my favorite Holidays were in the Service, maybe not the best food etc.... but its the "Reason" we give "Thanks to God (or insert your belief) for " Our Great Country,Family and friends because if it wasnt for them it wouldnt be ThanksGiving Goose LIVE FREE OR DIE |

Beat me to it Goose! Happy Turkey Day all! We're having some of the single guys I work with over to my place. Unfortunately I have to clean the house, cook dinner, and work tommorrow. But it's by choice. Amber hasn't felt good in about 2 weeks. It seems her morning sickness lasts from one morning till the next. EVERYDAY!! You might be a "Bulldog" if: You bend over and grab your ankles when you hear: "EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE!" |

My first Thanksgiving away from home was in 86. I ate two cold steamed hot dogs, in the freezing rain, standing a flight deck watch on the JFK somewhere in the Med. I was so cold, huddled on top of the steam leaking out of Cat 1, and under the wing of a jet. Having said that, heres to all of our boys out in the field, or at sea, and heres to my couch , a hot meal and a warm wife. I have so much to be thankfull for. And a hearty THANK YOU to all of you in the "official" hog community, and the rest of the forces, from those of us who are spectators that admire you for what you do for us. Of all the things to be thankful for, without the freedoms you help provide, most of them would not exist! Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a GAU-8A at your side, kid...--Hawg Solo Edited by - hogdog on Nov 24 2005 10:26 PM |

Well I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving? My family and I went camping in NC. Spent Turkey day with the folks and had a great time. The enjoy playing their roles as grandparents and I enjoy letting them. My brother fryed a turkey and I smoked a Boston Butt. We had all the traditional turkey day fair, cranberry sauce, stuffing, pumpkin pie, the works. Then the wife and I retreated to our camper for some Jim Beam and football. Nothing better. Goose you were right about one thing. Who says spending holidays away from home means your not with family? The guys and gals that were on my load crews were my family. Same goes for the specs and crew dogs that were deployed with us. Happy Holidays everyone. Fender "A woman drove me to drink and I hadn't even the courtesy to thank her". W.C. Fields |
