Hey folks, I'm working out an idea, and trying to find the flaws in it. You could help.

IF a the Nationally recognized shooting organization were to offer a discount card for either handguns, rifles, or shotguns, that could get you a 10% discount on all handgun, rifle or shotgun supplies, guns and ammo for the next 5 years, would you be willing to take a $100 training class on that weapon catigory, or take a $25 written/shooting test with an instructor if you felt you already knew that weapon well or had already taken a class? Please post your views on this and feel free to offer suggestions that might make this more doable.

I would do terrible things, unspeakable things, for a 10% discount. Forget even guns- just on ammo even. Where do I sign up?

Thanks Jack. You and most I've asked are of the same mind I think. Right now, no one is offering this, but it is an incentive I've come up with, that with the full buy in of the gun industry and the NRA, COULD be a first step in what I call, 'Self Regulation.' That basiclly means having the NRA and the gun industry, (i.e. manufacturers, retailers, etc.), provide regulation to keep the gun grabbers and the government out of the equation and out of our lives. I'm trying to get this researched and develop it into a proposal to the NRA. Wish me luck.

Would this be firearm specific (SIG P220, Beretta 92F, etc), or category (pistols, rifles, etc)? If category, how would it differ from the NRA Basic Firearm/Pistol course, etc? sounds like a good direction to go, though.

Catagories. It'd be too complicated otherwise.
