Post subject:  Reloading

I used to reload my ammo all the time, but until resently, had gotten away from it, as I was spending more time Woodworking and little time shooting.

Now, I've found a great range and I'm out there when ever time, location and weather permits. SO, I want to start reloading again.

The toughest part of reloading ammo, is cleaning the cases. So I broke down, while recovering from my knee surgery, and picked up a 5# vibration parts cleaner from Harbor Freight, then got a smokin deal on a 5 gal bucket of fine crushed walnut shells for the medium. As big as this cleaner is, I can easily fit well over 200 cases at a time in it.

So last night, just before class, I fill the tub half way with the medium and the other half of casings from a large box that I've just been dumping my brass in after each trip to the range.

After class I turn it off, pop the top and find all the brass to be nice and shiny. So I set up a sieve and a small bucket to separate the brass from the medium, and find that all of my .45ACP cases have other small cases stuck in side them. So I got to spend the next 2 hours, standing in my garage, pulling the cases appart and sorting them by type.ImageImageImage

Learn from my mistake, sort your brass before cleaning.
