Made some modifications to my semi auto Beretta 1200FP (same action as the Benelli M1, which is itself a version of the HK 512)

Image

Optic is a Burris Speedbead, light is a Surefire 6PX LED, 174 lumens. I have a pressure switch for it i have to install (i'll be making a bracket on the forearm to hold it). The stock is a Speedfeed 4S.

This thing hits with the force, speed and accuracy of the hammer of the gods.

:D

(This gun is a police trade in. The wear on the magazine tube is from it's time spent on cop duty).

SCHWEEEEEEEEEEEEET I really like the light mount. Who makes it? I have a 6 shot side saddle on mine too.

Just wondering, with a semi-auto, how fast can you switch from say a bird shot load for close in, to a buck load for mid range. That's a move I practice and use my side saddle to hold a couple buck loads and slugs. This allows me to tailor each shot to the circumstance.

Thanks! I had a feeling you'd appreciate it!!! :D

For home defense I keep high brass (but not quite magnum length) Federal Premium 2 3/4" 12 pellet copper plated 00 buck in the gun. The magazine holds six rounds. I keep an empty chamber for safety purposes.
I keep 1 round of Remington 3" magnum 15 pellet 00 buck in the side saddle so i can load the weapon to it's maximum 6+1 capacity if needed.

Considering that i can dump all 7 rounds on target (87x .33 caliber 00 pellets!!!) in about 2.5 seconds at realistic combat ranges of 25 feet or less, this set up actually bestows far more firepower than any SMG or assault rifle ever made.

Even a Mac 11 9mm at 1200rpm only delivers less than half as many (32) .355 caliber projectiles in the same time frame!!!

The other 4 rounds in the side saddle are for intended for an "in case of escaped rampaging circus elephant" scenario, lol.

They are absolute sledge hammers- Remington 3" magnum 1 oz .50caliber Barnes solid copper hollowpoint sabot slugs at 1900fps.

These rounds will almost certainly defeat both engine blocks and class IIIA body armor with equal ease. There is certainly no animal in North America that could survive a single hit to the vitals from one of these rounds. They are not ideal for a smoothbore barrel, which my Beretta is, however, at urban combat ranges, the accuracy is more than adequate.

I also have a 25rd shotshell sling and 30rd shotshell belt preloaded and stowed in a .30 cal ammo can, ready to go. (45 rds of the 2 3/4" 12 pellet federal 00 buck and 10rds of the Remington Barnes solid copper sabot slugs)

The light holder is made by tacstar. Here's a link:

It is adequate for a home defense or raid weapon IMO, but would probably not be up to the rigors of full time infantry usage.

Thanks for the link Snipe.

True, in an urban setting, doubt you'd really need the ability to shift loads that much. Just wandering with a semi, how'd you go about it. I'll have to look into that. I've given some thought to going semi-auto myself.

BTW: You mentioned a Pre-loaded shot shell sling and belt. Just a heads up, I had one of those slings years ago, and the loops were made from elastic, and within a couple of years, the elastic was so over stretched that it wouldn't hold shells anymore. If your's are also elastic, you might give some thought to leaving them unloaded, but keeping shells handy with them, then just load them up when you need them.

I've had nylon loop bandoleers do the same. The ones i'm using now have plastic loops. They should last indefinitely. :)

If you can find a Beretta 1200FP or 1201FP police trade in, they go for about $300-350!!!

That's less than half the price of a Benelli marked gun, and about 1/3 the price of an HK marked gun. All 3 use the same mechanism. :D

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep those Berrettas in mind. Nylon loops as you say, should be good for a life time. I'll have to keep an eye out for those too.
