Nice haul. Not that familiar with the ammo. Just looked it up though and it looks like a really hot .22. Have you conducted any live fire test with it? Just wondering about penitration or over penitration, and what type of bullets to get the best expansion.

There are numerous types of ammo available for the weapon, in varying power levels.

A couple things of note about the 5.7 are that it recoils 30% less than 9mm Parabellum and the ammo weighs about 30% less as well. It also takes up about 30% less physical space than 5.56mm or 9mm ammo.

FN SS197SR (Sporting), a 40gr Vmax bullet at 1700fps (225fpe energy). It is known to achieve about 10\" penetration and totally fragments.

FN SS195LF 28gr aluminum core JHP at 1900fps (225fpe energy). This round will easily defeat Class IIA body armor. In fact in tests my brother did at his range using mild steel plates, it out penetrated standard AK47 ball ammunition, and all pistol ammunition tested up to .44 magnum FMJ.

FN LEO/Military only SS190 duty load has a steel core, and a muzzle velocity of 2150fps. Easily defeats most Class IIIA armor.

And then you get to the real good (and all civilian legal) stuff...
(all velocities were generated with a Five SeveN pistol)

Clark Custom Cartridge 30gr JHP at 2300fps (350fpe energy). Penetrates Class IIA body armor, and probably penetrates Class IIIA body armor as well.

Clark Custom Cartridge Incendiary. (self explanatory)

Elite Ammunition Protector. 40gr Hornady Vmax at 2100fps. (390fpe energy). This round will penetrate Class IIA body armor. (9\" post armor penetration in gel, with total fragmentation and a 3\" diameter wound channel at widest point)

Elite Ammunition Terminator. Barnes Solid copper TSX hollowpoint at 1950fps. This round will penetrate Class IIIA body armor, and is designed for deep penetration in barriers or heavy bone.

Elite Ammunition S4 (rebuilt FN SS195LF). 28gr aluminum core jacketed hollowpoint at 2600fps. (405fpe energy). This round will easily penetrate a class IIIA vest, and produces 5.56mm fragmenting ammo type wounds. This is probably the ultimate load currently available for the Five SeveN pistol. I have 500rds of this stuff.

So, do most the Zombies in your neck of the woods wear body armor?

Interesting round, and some amazing stats. I think I'd be more worried about over penitration as a carry gun, however, if the round disintegrates easily, I'd doubt it would matter much as there wouldn't be much to come out the back side. Kind of like the old Glisner Safety Slug. Definately food for thought.

Not body armor, but the zombies around here hide behind barriers and cars. ;)

I plan on getting an AR-57 5.7x28mm \"pistol\" to compliment the Five SeveN pistol...

This is a pic of a PS90 next to an AR-57 pistol. Note: The magazine in the AR is just for catching empty brass, as the AR-57 ejects empties out the magwell. It is fed by a 50rd magazine along the top of the barrel, as is the PS-90.

Elite Ammunition S4M 28gr Aluminum core OTM gel tests:

This is some very impressive ammo...

The round's jacket fragments into many high speed pieces and totally separates from the core, creating a second large diameter wound tract.

The main body of the jacket is .57\" at it's widest point, and when it tumbles, the round rips a 1\"+ long hole in the gel (it actually tumbles a full 360 degrees, not just once, so you get 2 of those 1\" tears).

Here is the video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjuVTFTn ... tion_15988 1&feature=iv

Nasty as hell.

In tests done by Brassfetchers Ballistic labs, in the summary they stated that the round matches the damage of a 230gr .45 ACP JHP.

Which is damned impressive.
