Apologies for not having posted in quite some time. The rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated, etc.

Getting started on a new kit and in looking at my research material I noticed something... I'll admit I've been absent of late so please forgive me but when did the two vent covers go away next to the boarding ladder?

Guy

They went away during the past few years as the aircraft received the New IFFCC mod (Integrated Flight and Fire Control Computer). They caused to much air turbulence across the angle of attack vane located behind the boarding ladder door.

thanks Dice,

I spent a rather grey day last Sat. taking some pics for Code One of the new \"C\" cockpit, Litening, sniper etc. it all should be for an upcoming issue. I didn't really notice untill I started tweaking the images. Really got me jazzed about the airplane again. Hopefully I'll be back up there shooting for their next UTA. I promise I'll get that photo bucket thing in order and post a few.

Between the new cockpit and those intake covers, think we can find someone to do another update kit in 1/48th scale?

I don't see a \"New\" 1/48 scale A-10 coming out anything soon...we just have to make do with what is out there (Keep the Xacto knife at the ready).

ex-acto knife is sharp and I'm ready to take a wang at two crts in a cockpit 'update' of my own. I'll need to find some Baltimore decals or try to give Bob Sanchez at Two Bobs a call.

Picked up the Italeri kit. it has the LASTE bumps as seperate pieces! and so are those exhaust covers next to the ladder! go figure. With a new cockpit, might be a good lookin kit when it's done.

I'll keep you aprised and if anyone wants cockpit reference shots I'll get a photobucket thing together to post them. Till then...

gotta finish painting the living room. oh those domestic responsibilities!
lol
