Hello everyone,

I have a plan to build a detailed 3D model of external fuel tank carried by the Hog. However I don't have good quality reference material. So my question to you guys is: could you point me to the high quality pictures, blueprints, dimensions of the tank. A picture from the front, side, pictures of the tail and connectors would be very welcome, and also dimensions of the tank. Maybe someone could take a couple of pictures for me and/or measure the tank - I would really appreciate it!

I would appreciate any help!

Cheers,

Crowbar :)

I don't have any pics, but if you find some of the F-111 with tanks, the A-10 uses the same ones.

Thanks Jackb!

However, I still can't find good reference material and what's more I found that there are two versions of tanks that A-10 can carry. One is F-111 fuel tank and the second is made by Sergeant Fletcher. Is that true? How to recognize them?

Cheers

The F-111 tanks are much more common, and when the gear is down the front almost touches the aft NLG door. The Sgt Fletcher tanks are a little bit shorter and fatter, and not nearly as common.

You can check this thread over on FC, I found an old camo A-10 with old tanks.

Keep working your way up, nothing at the earlier pages.

Thanks for the replays guys. I have gathered quite a few photos of A-10 with tanks, however all of them are with F-111 tanks. If I find some photos of Sgt. Fletcher's than I'll do both versions, in the mean time I'll start working on the F-111 tanks.

Cheers :)

Hmmm... Looks like it's going to be harder than I thought. The dimensions will be a key factor here but I don't have any dimensions of those tanks. Maybe anyone could help me?

Any pictures of the KC jets most likely have Sergeant Fletcher tanks, since that is where most of them are at.
