No, its not one of my babies....they are still doing wonderful

2003 Nissan Sentra GXE

Belongs to a friend of mine that is not really in to cars, It seems to work ok most of the time but on occasion has some difficulty starting.....like he has to crank the ingition for a min or so before it starts running. Has approx 40,000 miles on it, drives fine, accelerates fine....(well fine that is for a 1.8 litre engine <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>)

I tol him i'd take a look when we are out tomorrow, i was thinking about putting a bottle of Techron through and maybe using a little carb cleaner but i would really love to get some ones else's opinion.

My first thought is fuel pump. Even though it's in the fuel tank, you should still hear it when the key is first turned on. I'd also see if there's any codes dumped into the computer (you don't always get a "Check Engine" light).

I did a quick check for recalls, there is one on that vehicle for the ignition module (cracked resistor).

Dunno RaceGal, intermittent problems are tough, doesn't matter aircraft or auto.

It could be almost literally anything.

That ign module recall might very well be the problem though. Good catch chief. :)

My other thought was the spark plugs since it doesn't happen all the time when started.

He tolf me that he did receive a re call awhile back and had it taken care of so i'm not sure about the crack resister.
