Got these photo's from Billy tonight, and he asked me to post them here for proper enshrinment in the annals of WT history, that his fallen nephew, Dillon Miles Jutras, a PFC in the Army Rangers killed during operations in Basra, Iraq, be forever remembered. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() \"Private First Class Dillon M. Jutras, 20, of Fairfax Station, Virginia, died in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, on October 28, 2005, from injuries sustained while conducting combat operations. Jutras was assigned to the Army's 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia.\" http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/dmjutras.htm \"US Army Snipers...providing surgical strikes since 1776.\" |

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high \"esprit de corps\" of my Ranger Regiment. Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other soldier. Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be. One Hundred-percent and then some. Gallantly will I show the world that I'm a specially selected and well trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow. Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country. Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight onto the Ranger objective and complete the mission, though I be the lone survivor. RANGERS LEAD THE WAY! ![]() ![]() ![]() \"US Army Snipers...providing surgical strikes since 1776.\"[/b] |

Snipe it was awesome to hear all the members of his team recite that out loud at Dillon's funeral at Arlington. His buddy was there on crutches from the grenade attack and all the other guys were there as well. It was a real moving experience. Right next to Dillon was a young man that had been a member of the Night Stalkers, the Army's prestige special ops helo unit out of Fort Campbell and Hunter Army Air Field. I couldnt help but wonder if he had been one of the Night Stalkers that had been with us on our obscure patch of desert in 2003, maybe one of the guys that had visited our jets. PFC Dillon M. Jutras will now forever belong to a fraternity that includes men like Daniel Morgan, Frank Merrill, William Darby, Robert Law, Jim Rudder, and so many others. Long after the rest of us are forgotten by history, his name will forever live in the legend and lore of the US Army Ranger Regiment. It is because of families such as yours that ours might be free. Pro Patria ~31st Infantry Regiment motto "US Army Snipers...providing surgical strikes since 1776." |

![]() So sorry for your loss. Know that it was not in vain, for if we could, some of us out here would give our lives to bring him back, for selflessly giving his for ours. I forever salute him and those that are his. |
