Since I talked about it in Racegal's post here's some info on my Bug.

It's a Yellow 1975 Standard Beetle (hence the name Bumblebee). 1600cc Fuel Injected motor. I bought it from a guy in Windsor, Ontario Canada the other day. It's got a salvage title but nothing is worng with it. I have to have the county Sheriff come out and inspect it tomorrow so I can get it plated. I'm thinking of a personalized plate (BUMMBL B) but haven't decied for sure yet. Maybe just a Veterans plate.

Pics to follow.

Ahhhh...fond memories of frozen feet and frosted interior windshields!! But definitely good in snow. Toss on a couple of black stripes around the fuselage and you're set!

30mm: We'll see how it holds up to the Michigan winter this year.

Snipe: Soon my friend. I have a lot of plans for this one. It will have a sibling though. A Baja so I can run the dunes near Skuz. In the mail right now is a stock engine rebuild kit, new clutch, side mirror and engine hardware from JCWhitney. Once I get a job, and a place to work on it, the go fast and look good parts will be purchased. Turbo kits run about $1500.

Racegal: Don't knock it till you try it. What other car can you get a big bore engine rebuild kit for $269?

You could always do what a couple brothers did (one of which was as a H.S. freshman student of mine)... dropped an Olds Toronado 455 into their Bug. [bounce] No windows, just a heat shield. They'd run that sucker up and down the county roads like they were moonshiners! [shock]

I had several baja Bugs in highschool through college.

I would hunt rabbits to Reserve Marine Duty, and back from. There was no trail that could stop it. It would go forever, it had so many holes in the floorboards that I would stop at gas stations, get a sandwhich and a Fountain drink. Once i was done eating i would stuff the cup and shrink wrap in the holes.

I'm sure with some creative welding, and some ebaying/junkyarding, we could get you one for a lot less than that!!

I've seen it done and they are still running!

You're only what, 8-10 hours from my place. If you're ever feeling froggy, I can do the research and the welding.

Sure, as long as you mow the lawns, weed the flowers, clip the hedges, clean the pools, wash and wax the vehicles and tug your forelock and mutter \"Mum\" & \"Sir\". [lol]

I was going to get that exact plate Skuz, but I ended up getting the Air Force Veteran Plate. Once the car is up to the standards I want, I'll get the BUMMBLB plate and the Autobot sticker for it. I'm actually looking into wheels for it now, since I got a job again.

You going to make it down to the D for the Dream Cruise in August?

Snipe,
It would be at my best friends house. He has a 29' camper you could stay in. And there might be some babysitting involved as well as everything 30mm said! LOL

na, wont be making it to D-town. i got nothing to show. one day i'll get my new rims put on, but no idea when that'll happen.

if you did put a turbo on it, you would have to get a \"More Than Meets The Eye\" decal on it somewhere.

If there was a way to actually hide the turbo, I'd be all over that sticker!!! I plan on keeping a somewhat \"sleeper\" look to it. But have it be somewhat stylish. So for now the stock rims will stay.

I got my stuff from JCWhitney today. Mirror was shattered and I got 4 valves for a 1600cc motor, and 4 valves for a 1300cc motor.
