It's damned near as fast as my car. Based on my best ET of 13.67, i'd beat it by a fender length.

Amazing.

Yes, but wouldn't you rather drive the sleek, hot looking shark?

I know i would, even if mine isn't as fast as yours! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Snipe,

That version of the XT must be the really hot one.

Prodrive (just down the road from me) are the world experts on Scoobies. They prepare all the WRC team rally cars.

They quote a std vehicle covering the 1/4 in 16.0 and their hotter version at 15.1

Here's the spec sheet for the car (std and warmed up)

http://www.prodrive.com/uploads/03MY%20Forester%20PPP.pdf

I'm not saying that you can't get an XT into the mid 13's but it nust be a fairly extreme conversion and probably not the standard vehicle.

So your 928 is still safe <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>...

If I was looking for a sensibly priced Sleeper or Q-car as they're known in the UK, I'd go for the VW Passat W8.

It's a totally normal looking Passat with a 8 cylinder 4.0l 270bhp engine, 4WD and 6 speed manual or 5 speed slush box.

It can do the 1/4 in 14.9 to 15.1 (depending on what you read) and 0-62 in 6.7

Comes as an estate or saloon.

Well smart and not as offensive looking as the XT...

Nope, 13.86 right off the showroom floor.

Do some googling, the 15.0 second rating comes from using it's rated 210hp and a drag calculator. But the engine actually puts out 300(It's an STI engine).

At the track these things are running 13.80s right off the showroom floor.

That's quick...

They must be quoting 210-230 bhp to get round the Jap rule that says they can't export anything with more than 276bhp.

Does this thing follow the Subaru mold of 4x4? If so just think how quickly you could get into trouble in winter..."Four inches of snow? No problem for this Forrester. Ramp entrance to concrete median in 1.2 sec!"<img src=newicons/anim_lol.gif border=0 align=middle>

LOL, you can shave .3 of a second off that time if you're on the roof.

Less friction...
