Those hoses can be kinda rough. I'm sure they were just being considerate of his paint.

I used to do quite a lot of work on Oil refineries and in the safety briefings they made it absolutely clear that if you blocked a hydrant with your car and they needed it, they would ram your car out of the way with the firetruck.

I spent ages trying to get my bosses car keys so I could part it next to a hydrant...
