Anyone have any info on whether the A-10 has ever been considered for use on carriers or by the Marines?

The A-10 has lots of problems with carrier compatibility. Overlooking the obvious ones like no tailhook and no wing folds, the landing speed is too high. It needs a new high lift system to get the landing speed lower, and even then would require a stronger, longer stroke (>20 inch>) main gear. There are real problems with a hook installation, and the off center nose gear is a real chalenge for nose tow launches. There are probable problems with the waveoff requirements, 50 foot popup and sink off the bow during max gross launches. The fuel tanks are not stressed for fore & aft g's of the magnitude required, and heck even the flight controls might go screwy due to mass imbalances at launch. I guess what I'm saying is that it is mighty difficult to make a jet operate off a ship if it hasn't been designed with that in mind.

I made a flight model with vectored thrust and about 30,000 lbs of total thrust.

So i had no problems out turning zero's :)

With the original flight model you definitely want to zoom and boom a zero though.

You got the right .dp file for it?
That is what controls how much armor and the gun it carries.
I made one of those too, it was pretty imprevious to japanese 7.7mm machine gun fire- as is a Hog i'm sure ;)
