Hi - dont post much but visit every couple of days - spend Thursday @ RAF Fairford - only and hour or so from where i live in the English Midlands - for the arrivals at the Royal International Air Tattoo - treated to a practice display from one of the SP hogs - Panthers ? - Altho a couple usually come in for the static this yr there should be a duo display from one of yr teams - the weather is forcast ok for the weekend so i am looking fwd to the guys really throwing these things about if Thursdays practice was anything to go by - i know you guys probably see that sort of thing all the time but since the Hogs left the UK for sunnier climes this sort of thing is rare indeed - bi for now...Loz.

The reason for 2 Hogs is one flyer, one spare....so they will stay parked up display side.
It is doubtful whether the 81st could spare an extra Hog for the static.
Looking forward to the display, it has been a long time.
It seems one of the Hogs is 81-954.......the subject of my Armor 1/48 A-10 model......now there's a pleasant coincidence.

ghorsepower made it clear there would be no static weeks ago so I was'nt expecting one.
It was fortunate to be able to secure 2 display jets so for that I am grateful.
Great display, but I suspect alot of the rules and procedures pertaining to USAF demo's have changed since I last saw a Hog display in '91, it seemed a little higher than the USAFE demo's in the 90's, and they don't wave the 'decelerons' at crowd centre at the end of the roll-out anymore.

However,it was great to have the Hog back flying at a UK airshow, and the British crowds were certainly pleased to see it back judging by the reaction and anticipation as the A-10 was about to begin its routine.
Regrets?....I didnt see any East Coast T-shirts/patches for sale, only a small gripe though.

Thanks to every member of the ACC East Coast A-10 Demo Team for a great show and emotional return for the Hog to its dedicated followers here in the UK......Please come back soon!.....Waddington next June?!

Yes Yojimbo we got the package. Thank you very much they are lovely. I just wish we could have been parked closer to the crowd so the fans could come up and talk to us. It was a great show and hopefully USAFE will allow us to borrow their jets again for another European show.
