The 2004 A-10 World Wide Review (WWR) will be held here in Jan 05 and we are looking for guest speaker(s). 1973 saw the A-10 fight for it's life during a fly-off with the A-7D, which was not even part of the AX program, and the GAU-8A Avenger cannon installed in the aircraft for the first time. We (the A-10 SPO) are looking for someone who was involved with either of these events to speak at the WWR.

The 2004 WWR's theme will either be "a fight for life" or "the year of the gun", anyone know a person who was involved with the fly-off or the testing of the GAU-8A at Edwards or Nellis and may be interested in speaking at the WWR?

I met the guy that was running the SPO (I think) when it came to be. He lives in Cocoa Beach, which, last time I checked, is still there, but it may not be after Jeanne.

He fought in Vietnam and has some good stories. To be truthful, not an awe-inspiring speaker though...

I don't guess you would have any kind of contact info would you? It would be nice to have the first SPD to speak on the things that were going on at that time.
