have you guys seen this? It's a really strange load with a GBU-12 on station #1 and what looks to be either a 500 or 1000 pounder on station #6. I don't recall ever seeing a free-fall munition on #1 or #11??? :?: Anyone have any insight on this or know someone at DM who may be able to shed some light on this load-out?

Back before the A-10's carried such things as ECM pods and AIM-9's, MK-82's and rocket pods were about all we carried on the outboard stations. Looks like a rocket pod on 2. The CL is without a doubt a MK-82, 500 lbs low drag.

Hadn't seen that config but when I was stationed at nellis we were flying rocket pods on 4 and 8. Needed TERs though, otherwise the rockets would punch holes in the horizontal stabs when they fired off. We learned on the first try but took "them" four warnings and visual aids before they believed us. Good times.

Yeah, you're right there Dice. By today's standards, with the ECM and AIM's which are ususally standard fare, it does seem a bit odd. They may have been doing some drop test of some kind, but wouldn't care to venture a guess as to why.

Hey guys. First post.

Currently stationed at DM. If you have any way of knowing when this pic was taken I may be able to help. I believe it was from the 9/11 flight from 2012. We sent a few up that day with this load and some holding 8 500 lbrs. Ranging from the -82 to the -12. I think I have a couple pics of it before I launched mine out that day.

Hey 197 welcome aboard. :D I'm not sure of the date and it looks like you're not the only base doing this...here's a shot of a Fort Smith bird with a high-drag on the outboard station...I just have to wonder why?
