Are all the A-10's stored at AMARC painted in the European One-Charcoal Lizard scheme, or are some in the current Compass Ghost?

Most of the A-10's at AMARC are the European 1 paint scheme, but there is still a small mix of the current overall gray models there too.

Hawg all the A-10 at AMARC are painted in green, they went to the "yard" before the compass gray was adopted. I have been there and walked around all of them so this is from first-hand experance.

Any grey A-10s at AMARC, were most probably those undergoing EGI modification or Hog Up; not necessarily in there for storage.

Are the wings from the AMARC aircraft being used for the Hog Up programme and what will happen to the left over fuselage?

Guess I was wrong then. When I was there a few years ago I saw about 6 or 7 gray sitting under the canopies. I thought those birds might have been getting preserved to spend some time out there. Guess not.

The old wings are going to be sold on Ebay as coffee tables.

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

I believe all the ones under the awnings in the main area were the EGI or Hog Up birds.

Anyone know how many airframes will be left unmodified after the canx of Hog Up?

Yea I "heard" about Wags, I wish him well in all he does! I also wish I could afford Vagas but unless I find a job soon I will be a 45 year old man living with his mommy again!!

Uggghhhhh. Here we go again.

So what Blocks of F-16 does Luke fly?

Who makes the tires that the A-10 uses?

Or are those OPSEC too?

You people amaze me. Let's not post how many A-10s might have worked-on wing structures. That sure might give the enemy some ammo. It's not I'm asking how many have the new super-gizmo laser on them. I mean, I used to fly the darn things, and there's very little about the jet itself that is vitally important to national security or otherwise.

OPSEC is important people, but let's use some good judgement in implementing it, not abject paranoia. Just because something has to do with an arbitrary number doesn't automatically make it OPSEC. One can read on the AF website how many Hogs are in inventory, but if one asks "how many Hogs are in the inventory?" here on this board, people here have a cow. It's not like we're discussing SIOP, for those of you that actually know what that is.

Wait....did you guys know that DM adjusted the hours to the Wilmot gate? OMG!!!

bla...bla...bla...to be honest...I don't give a damn what you think....as a mod I have a responsibility...if you don't agree...talk to Pete....If you don't like it here...don't post...I don't care....yes....maybe we are "to touchy" here when it comes to OPSEC, if you want to go to the usaf.mil site, go ahead, they are an official site for the USAF, so they can post what they want. This isn't an official site, and unless I'm overruled by Pete, some things won't be posted as long as I'm a mod...I normally don't step into the "sh*t" that does pop up on here from time to time...I guess I just have a wild hair up my...you get my point...yeah...we know you think we overplay OPSEC...you've said it many times....so why repeat yourself?!?! Anyways...as long as I'm on "watch" that info won't be posted here...& if it is...it will be removed....

You seem to be a smart ass...yeah..I can be to from time to time...any little information (yeah, even gate time changes) can eventually add up to give enough away enough information that someone can take advantage of.....anyways...I'm done (for now) and I'll give my soap box up to whomever wants it next (yeah...even you Type7)

Not to derail this thread, but your unnecessary and unprofessional blow-up towards my post needs to be addressed.

Pretty short fuze for someone that's supposed to be an unbiased mod. Great example you set with the "don't like it around here, just leave"....the "my way or the highway, it's my sandbox" attitude. Real professional. But that's besides the point. You may not care what I think, and that's OK, but I've been around a while, and frankly, I think it's sad when people can't use a little good judgement on what constitutes OPSEC and what doesn't. While I admit to being a little facetious in my post, I was trying to humorously illustrate some of the more asinine things that people label under OPSEC. I see it at work as well as here. And it's the same type of people each time that take the normal concept of OPSEC, and turn it into paranoia. If you want to protect the info the way you seem to want to, then I see this website being restricted to topics like:

"I've got this new A-10 game, and it's real cool"

"Anyone know when the next airshow with A-10s is going to be?"

"Does anyone have the new 1/32 A-10 model?"

Point being, if you don't use some judgement in what's OPSEC and what isn't, and you only want to use a blanket "we won't talk about that here", then there's really NOTHING that's game to talk about here on this site regards A-10s, the Air Force, the military, the US government, etc, etc. Because by your definition then, EVERYTHING would have some sort of intrinsic value that someone could "piece together" to figure out whatever they wanted to. See what I'm trying to say? By your definition, next to NONE of the topics in the "Hog Chat" should be allowed. Discussing a few jets that got some sort of structural mod isn't the same as discussing dates/times of a deployment, by a long shot. That's where judgement comes in.

And I hope you're not serious about my joking comment about gate times being OPSEC, I mean, they're posted on a sign outside the gate for the public to see, as well as any changes posted in the baase newspaper, which nearly everyone has access to and is hardly a classified source.

If you're serious about that example, then THIS is the kind of idiotic, no-brain robotic paranoia that created the TSA and the Patriot Act.

Like I said, I've been flying these things for quite a while and am more than aware what OPSEC is and isn't.

I for one am behind you all the way on this prkiii. People always screem..that info isn't senitive, come on it can be found in books and on the internet! So why get pissed at us if we don't what to talk about it here? Go to these another sites or buy the dame book and you will have the info you want.

The last thing I want for this site is for anyone here not to air a consern over COMSEC/OPSEC whenever they feel like it...BS or not!

prkiii's comment, if you don't like it don't come here, may be harsh but it's a valid statment. I know for a fact there is free webspace and message boards everywhere on the net, if you don't like the way this one is run open you own and you can talk about anything you want.

Of course this is just my opinion.
